Your last generator Maintenance Run

I bought a 1975 Gold Wing brand new, first year they made them, and it's out in my barn.

I took two bigger trips on it, one 15,000 miles, the other 12,300, both starting out in Alaska and riding on the ALCAN Hi-way....

I haven't ridden it in a long time now though...

Ooooh, I have a 76 too.

I still have my 1981 XL185 in the barn. That thing was my teenage year freedom 25 years ago.... it was runnung when I parked it there 15 years ago.... haven稚 touch it since, except every now and then I slowly crank it a few time. It is not seized.

Now that my kids are getting older, they keep asking me to get it out and they want to ride with me.... So I guess sooner than later I will try to get the old girl going... oh and I have 3 more XL 185 ( 1x 1981 and 2x 1987) for parts, they were beaten up no runner that I got dirt cheap back then for parts.

Sounds like big fun with the kids...... small bikes are great to learn on, and for putting around the back 40. If any of the youngsters are somewhat inclined, helping with the old bikes would be a great way to learn about mechanical systems...... as many/most schools don't seem to have Shop anymore....

I like seeing pretty much any older piece of machinery restored..... but I have a soft spot (maybe in my head...... no, make that definitely !) for MCs.

Well, those aren't the only two that I have. I also have a nice classic 650 Yamaha twin, a 750 Kawasaki, a Sportster ect., SO, I guess I do have the MC disease, and I've had it all of my life!

Nice bikes; I'm sure there are good homes out there if you wanted to pass them to the next custodian......

Been having more power outages due to high winds and rain. Have received 6 calls today from customers telling me how much they LOVE their generators. No service work, but happy customers is always a nice thing.

Lousy weather..... seems to make people appreciate reliable Aux Power more......

Nice Summer Day..... good excuse to stay outside and do something !

W/o a relevant contract in place (hospital etc), I wouldn't be working on somebody else's gen in the middle of the night either.....

Decent customers you have :thumbsup:; many times people only pick up the phone for complaints/problems.....
