Headlight bulbs

Or possibly a Severe Application version with a thicker (but less bright) filament, to resist vibration damage.

Now that would be nice. In the automotive realm, the 9007 comes in a Long Life version that is like this, but the illumination is a tad less. trade-offs really.

Now that it's Dark and I wanted to check the lights and the Fredricks bulb I have in the Tractor. It was real dirty and surprised having the rubber boot cover on it still. Esp. the connections Cleaned it up and that helped. Still not as bright as the 25/25. No# on the Fredricks bulb or Wattage but I have the Receipt and they say LB-4155. Looked it up 12V 35/25w. While I had that out and in my parts book they also Have a LB-4151 12V 25w/25w also.;)

That LB-4155 gets hits for all kinds of things John Deere, Yanmar, Kubota, Iseki, etc.

Found that Walts has the sockets for these too.
Yanmar Light Bulb---2015

Such another major plus for Yanmar owners!! I replaced the one I mentioned in a prev. reply 1-28-09 from Fredricks. When the other org. went out and I was back down to just one working so I just let it go. Availability wasn't anything like these two places that I know of now. I never used them Maybe a couple times before I went back down to one again. Now that I have 2 working again I have all kinds of light. As much as my Honda EX. and it Hauls A_ _....... The Tractor supply is only 3 miles from my house @ half the price of Walts. They're bright enough I could see the sand in the Crush and Run of my Dr. moving!! I have done this before is to spin my worklight forwards and get a Major spotlight on top of that. Now I won't even think about changing lights now.

There are a few threads about replacing the entire headlamp assembly with LED units, but none touched on just the bulb swapping to LED. I found this thread and one other and replied with the LED bulb info.

Attached is a bulb chart I had found dealing with Asian bulbs and off-road an on-road applications. There are variances of the P15D-1 bulbs. For the Yanmar applications, it's the 35W/25W with the T19mm base. Oddly, there are other P15D-1 bulbs with wattage's of 15W/15W. Hardly ideal for headlamp use. Then there is the 60W/60W, but the base is HUGE.

So finding an LED bulb by itself for this odd size for the tractors is a rare thing. These were not found 2 years back when I had diligently looked hard for them.

Thanks bmaverick. Sorry I have been gone for a while

Thanks bmaverick. Sorry I have been gone for a while

I was in the auto parts store. looked at a bunch of bulbs there. I got to thinking about the H7 halogen. Looks adaptable to fit in the Yanmar OE headlamp units.

Also, whilst looking at the Fredrick's parts catalog, Yanmar used 3 or 4 different headlamp styles over the years and 2 or 3 different bulbs. The chart I had posted shows a typical bulb and at the lower right a fat head type. Seems the fat head is used. BUT, not sure why the normal bulb can work when the base being the same for the others.

The nice thing about an H7 is the wattage is vehicle range of 55W low and 65W high. Should these fit and work, I don't see why the old bulbs are still used. I'll have to pop out one of mine and take it in to the store for sizing in the Spring.

The Tractor Supply no doubt is brighter than the Fredricks. Had it out and charged the battery up the other day. Turned my Work light around and actually had a good chuckle being so bright. That 9Mph. can sneak up on you if your not careful. ;)

Nice Yannie. Rear mounted light and rear flat top fenders.

My CUT needed new bulbs. (Stanley)
No cross reference at the auto parts store.
Motorcycle shops had closest match but notch in the base did not match so I simply filed the notch to fit.
Worked fine but I later replaced with an LED light bar that performs much better at lower amperage,
