I wasn't happy with having to lean forward to operate the loader joystick. A little bit ago, I heated it up with a torch and bent it so it would be closer, but it was still farther out than I wanted it.

So, I bought a Volkswagon gearshift extension on Amazon for $10, installed it today. It turned out pretty good, very comfortable now.

Looks good! I had the same problem... having to lean forward to grab the lever. I also extended mine about 7 inches. Works great now! You will also find that it helps to feather the control much easier!

First pic Is the stock one, the next pics are of the longer one I made. The stock one was threaded 10mm. I could not find any 10mm threaded rod, so went to TSC, got two 10mm bolts and cut the heads off. I stuck the bolts in the ends of 3/8 tube steel, did a quick tack weld, and threaded it on the valve. The stock knob went on the other end. Took longer for the paint to dry than make the thing!

Cool, nice that the joystick threads on, gives you some options. Mines just one piece going all the way to the valve.

Per your sig, I take it you're a medic? I was an emt-p in the previous century.

Yep, I was a EMT-P back in Philly years ago, gave it up for a while (well at least not professional). About 13 years ago, went back to school and got a degree in EMS as a medic. Been working in a high volume system (130k calls / yr) for the last 12 years, until I got hurt on the job last year. The Docs say I can never return to the streets. Waiting any day now to be scheduled for a third surgery next month..... probably the end of my career. Even so, I just recertified my NRP and state license..... there is always hope!

Yea, my lever was easy.... I saw in your pic how it goes way down low and bends... does not give you too many options. You did a nice job on it.
