Tough to find a 5610

I had a bunch of 5gal pail paint strainer bags and found out they work great protecting the AC condenser from dust. Open the side door and slip it right over, then close the door. It can be removed and shook out out in the field too.

If your wanting to run 90” finish mower and a Brushcat, I would hold out until you find a 5610 or are able to spend more. I really feel higher radiator location and not being covered by a bed help with cooling and makes it a lot easier to keep radiator clean. I found my 2013 5610 used with less than 200 hrs with a 90” finish mower in early 2015. I have about 10-14 acre area at my farm I mow with it. With area and number times I’ve had to mow in a year, I’ve mowed almost 600 acres with my 5610 and have put anther 800 hrs on. Unfortunately, I gave closer to $50k with the mower and a bucket. I’ve since bought a rental Brushcat 72” too. 5610 handles the Brushcat well.

Don’t know how much mowing you have to do, but you’ll want to put some screen over your AC condenser, at least when mowing. Material and dust from mowing will plug it solid. Now when I mow every 30-45 minutes I may have to stop and knock the screen out. When cleaned my condenser out midway through the first summer, it took a few hrs and I ended up pulling air filter box and condenser fan to clean from both sides to get it cleaned out.

I planned on doing a lot of mowing and thats kind of what I feared. I thought adding the pre cleaner to it would help on the intake end of things, but I had heard the radiator would plug up fairly easy. My farm tractors plug up after a few hours of heavy field mowing, too. Seems unavoidable unless you install a reversible fan.

On a 5610, most of the fluff gets trapped on the rear hood screen. You can just pop the rear hood and blow from the underside. I have blown air from the bottom side of the radiator and have not seen much dust. The air filter will get filled with stuff so a pre-cleaner is worth it.

I was referring to the AC condenser at the bottom side of the cab on drivers side. I have little to no problem with radiator plugging. I did add the pre-cleaner to my air intake and that made a big difference and was well worth it.

I feel like the raised intake pre cleaner is a must have for mowing.
Would anyone mind sharing what the kit cost?
Was the kit dealer install or DIY install?

I want to say it was around $300 give or take $50. I put mine on myself, hardest part was cutting the hole in the side. I just bought a appropriate sized hole saw. You're right, it's a must if you now a lot, dust and dry grass gets sucked right in air intake and fills up air filter.

I built my own pre cleaner for my 5600 for about $80. filter bowl was the most expensive item. was pretty simple to do. not sure how they attach for a 5610 but cant believe it would be that different. some 2" aluminum tube and a 2 rubber elbows and its done. defiantly worth it for field mowing. i have some pictures if you go with the 5600. I don't find keeping the air condition condenser too tough of a job. especially for the payoff. 70 degree cab on a 95 degree day, right.
best money spent from my perspective. air and heat are where its at when you have to sit in it for a long time.

I feel like the 5610 is a must have for mowing after reading about the overheating problems with the 5600, back before we got our first Toolcat.

Yes, I agree. I guess I'm going to have to be very patient and wait for a 5610. It'll drive me crazy, but worth the wait. IMHO, if you have to carry obects in the bed of the 5600, might as well just carry them in the bucket of the 5610?
I'm not at all disparaging the 5600. I'd probably be real happy with one, but the 5610, because of my chore list, sounds like the way to go...
