Wouldn't it be interesting to know the stresses that are being applied to the healthy portion of the main trunk?

Yes. Was surprised it was still standing. There were enough trees around it to shelter it from the Oklahoma winds.

Yep. Wonder if there was another tree intertwined with it at some time??

I really enjoy looking at similar trees in my timber. Makes you wonder what happened in their lives to make them look like that??

Pure luck. I look out that direction everytime I'm near it in the mornings. Always something going on out there. Second time it's been a Bobcat. First time he was passing thru and got away before I could get my phone going. This one was hunting so spent more time there.

I've got a couple Cherry trees that some young buck used to get the velvet off his antlers; they look similar to that, but in miniature. They seem to be healing up; maybe in 10 or 20 years, they may look like that if they survive.
