2019 ford ranger review....

I finally sat in the new Ranger. While I like the looks, mileage and stats, I found the Ranger to be hard to get into and out of. I have a tall torso and I'm by no means small. I found that the roof line was so low that I had to drag my head in at 90 degrees to get in. I'm pretty bummed, because this was the front runner for my DD replacement.

I found the GMC/Chevy to have the most interior room for the midsize trucks, but the mileage is not great.

I had the same issue with the new Ranger. Got in and my head was on the ceiling. For fuel economy and safety the truck cabs have got shorter. The new Ranger has brought the height back some from the 2003/4 shortening. But still not tall enough for all of us.

If you're 6'+, and have some "girth", I would not be looking at any mid-size truck, you will not fit comfortably in any of them.

I'm 6-2" and 215 lbs... I don't fit in any of the small trucks. Before I leased my current F150, I was seriously looking at a crew cab Tacoma.... it was just too small. The Ranger ..also too small.

I guess that being a little runt has it’s advantages, after all. :D Nevertheless, my 2004 Ranger is the first vehicle I’ve ever owned which I wished had a tilt wheel for entering and exiting... and I’ve owned 2 other Rangers, 2 Dakotas, an S-10 and a pre SR-5 Toyota.

Except for my head on the ceiling the new Ranger was comfortable. That comfort makes it a little tighter than my '97 Ranger. Salesman tried to find on I would fit in. I was wasting time waiting for Service to finish with my F150.

Few years I looked at the Tacoma. That cab is short plus front of roof curves down to below my eye level.

As far as mileage goes, my Ranger has leveled off at 24.7 mpg.
Oddly enough it was higher when I first got it, occasionally up to 25.5.
Now with about 8000 miles on it this is were it usually stays.

thanks for the report MoArk Willy. You have more miles on your ranger than we do. If there is anything on it you like, or don't, do let us know.

The GM mid-size trucks seem to have just as much room as their full size trucks, except for the seat height is lower, leaving the passengers to stick their legs out rather than down. I was very impressed with the room.

The Ranger felt comfortable once I was in. Good seating position, but a little low like the GM. Comfortable width for one person (I was by myself). I'm 6'2" and 265lbs and felt comfortable in the seat. But it was the entry and exit that was tough. The A pillar slopes considerably and the B pillar is pretty far forward. I noticed that with the seat back, my shoulder is in line with the front edge of the B pillar edge. So I was sitting behind the side window. Well, except for my gut.

Very nice! What does it say your average speed is?

I'm 6'2" and not a gazelle like the good ole days. Anything not full sized is not for me. And I am not just talking about cars and trucks. I do love my 2006 F150.

Bought my son a well used Ranger... good little truck but not comfortable for me. I guess I am just wanting not to compromise anymore. The Rangers sure do hold there resale value... at least around here.
