Amazon $19.95 for 3.75 x 30 roll of zip tape

I have 'patched' seats by using polyurethane caulking (Fextra) to 'glue' patch strips in place and it stands up quite well.
That caulking is similar to windshield adhesive and performs very well.
LOL, saves a wet aze!

Roll of Zip Tape at Lowes is 90 feet long for $26.95 I've never seen a 30 foot roll, but for $7 more, you get 60 more feet at Lowes.

I've never used gasoline on it, so I can't say if it holds up or not. But if you have never used Zip Tape for anything, it's worth buying just to see how good it is!!! It's a must have for me.

But if you only need 4" of it for a small seat tear, you can save $7.
I go through rolls of the stuff doing construction projects for customers using the zip system sheathing, so I'm usually buying it by the case.

Thanks for the replies, I read this thread briefly before I left work yesterday and I stopped at Home depot on my way home and looked at Zip tape. They had a few different ones so I figured I would wait and read more about it. Thanks for the updates.

With the Zip tape I wonder how it would hold up on a seat going on and off and rubbing on it constantly?. I have used duct tape on seats but after a while the duct tape comes off then it leaved that sticky residue that never comes off sticking to your pants. I guess it is worth a shot. Only downside is my seat is grey and the zip tape is black.

I can not separate the seat from the base to work on the underside without major work. At that point I would just replace it. Still considering stitching it as well.

I know everyone said the tape, but I thought I would add this tidbit in case anyone gets adventurous. Be careful where you buy marine grade vinyl for seats if you ever decide to reupholster the seat. I bought mine on amazon, price was right, however, it came folded up. I heated it, stretched it, waited for weeks, those folds never came out. Just .02 for anyone who might try reupholstering their seats. Plenty of vids on the net about doing it. It's just fabric, foam, staples and glue. My stuff doesn't look the prettiest when its done, but it is cheap and lasts. I have redone weight lifting benches that have lasted years, even built my kid a bed and learned how to upholster a headboard. Super easy stuff, way easier than fluid changes and greasing equipment

I've never seen it at Home Depot, so I looked at their website to see if it's really there. I discovered a large variety of Zip Tape products listed on their website that I had no idea existed. I have always bought the tape used for the Zip System OSB green coated sheathing. That is what I linked to in the Lowes website. It is nothing like duct tape. I hate duct tape. It dries out, falls apart, and doesn't do a very good job of holding anything together. If I'm working on ducting, I use Foil Tape. Which is something that I always have on hand too. For just about everything else except painting blue tape, I use Zip Tape. It's the best stuff out there to hold stuff together and withstand the elements.

Is zip tape like gorilla tape? I've used gorilla tape on a torn vinyl seat before, it worked great..held up all winter and spring until I sold the tractor.

Edit: nevermind, looks like zip is something else. Anyways, gorilla tape worked pretty good for me.

Used gorilla tape to repair cracked plastic tractor roof. That was 3 years ago. It’s great!

Price must vary somewhat by store, it was $29.95 at my store. Hope it stands up better than duct tape on seats. I only wish it didn't have printing on it...looks like of ghetto.

Thanks for the tip though, had never heard of it before.
