John Deere 2305 (2010)
I have a 2010. Jd2305. I replaced the hydraulic fluid, filter and pulled the screen out, cleaned the magnets & screen. Reinstalled. Once I pulled the tractor out of the garage, right where I pulled the screen out lay two O-rings. They aren’t the two that go on the cap that holds the screen in with the hose connector on it.

I ended up draining, pulling the screen back out. The o-rings fit perfectly on the nipples on each end of the screen.

Does anyone know if that’s where they go ? I’ve googled a pic of the parts breakdown and it doesn’t show them.

Thanks to anyone who has an idea ! 100% sure they came from in there somewhere- not sure. Ugh

Check the illustration below from JD Parts. I believe item #12 is the two O-rings you are looking for.

Thanks for the reply, but No, They aren’t the two O-rings that go on the cap. Those are approx 2” in diameter. 1/4 “ thick.
The two I found on the ground are approx 1” diameter. 1/32” thick. (Very thin)

I should also add, I have 550 Hours on the 2305. All by me. This makes the 6th time I’ve cleaned this screen. 50 hour. Then ever 100. So, Looks like I would have seen theses before.

I’ll try my best to get a pic on here within the day.

The oil fill plug and drain plugs have orings. Possibly one or both of them from there?

Good guess, thanks... the drain plug has an aluminum washer, fill plug has an O-ring. But half the size as the two I found. I just attached pics for a better understanding of the size.
