Dump trailer hauling my tractor

Your loader and hoe are not in! That is not a proper fit by any means and God forbid you need to transport with an additional attachment or something low hanging off the 3 point.

Well it works for me. Sorry to disappoint you. Have a nice day.

I’m not disappointed and understand it works for you but stating it fits when it’s not even close to doing so ?

How do you like your Lamar trailer? I'm currently looking at 16' ones but don't know if i'll get permission to buy. I noticed that you do not have a weight distribution hitch, so you apparently have room in the trailer for proper balancing. Have you ever had to move material around to get it balanced? I'm surprised to see an SMV sign on the back of your trailer, I thought that was only for vehicles traveling under 25 mph - are you limited to slow speeds with your trailer?

It'll be "fine" after he takes the FEL and BH off  It would not be "fine" for me though - especially when somebody rams into the bucket on the hoe. As-is would be okay for moving the equipment around on ones' on property - only.

I clearly understand the OP's desire to shave a few bucks. We all do. But given a choice, a larger trailer would be in order.

Agreed!

We have done similar for very short, predictable travel as him. I understand saving money, time and convenience but myself if the towing speed was to go past 35 mph or require leaving my very rural farm roads, his trailer would not get hooked to my truck loaded as pictured. Neither would I recommend anyone asking for advice to buy a trailer that doesn’t fit thier needs.

My advice to anyone buying a trailer is simple. Buy enough trailer for the tractor +, things change, your needs change and having a trailer that fits your evolving needs is important. Most importantly don’t tow things that would come into question in the mind of police or be under scrutiny if an accident was to occur!

FYI the set up is legal and safe. May not be for you but.....my neighbor is CHP truck inspector and he see no problem with this setup. Trailer has 6ft tongue, with enough room for FEL so I can maneuver without interference with rear of truck, and backhoe extends 22" from rear of trailer which is legal. If it makes you feel any better, I now have a 16' Lamar gooseneck. Perhaps I have evolved.

Hereç—´ the same tractor on my 24 trailer. Implements fill a trailer fast. View attachment 644000

The ramps on your trailer waste a lot of deck space.
My ramps stand straight up when traveling.
I believe that I could haul that load on my 20' 14K equipment trailer.

Yup, perfectly legal, as is mine, here in PA.

I bought that trailer to haul my backhoe not the little Kubota. The backhoe boom goes between the ramps so not really wasted space. I could back the tractor up 3 feet and use a ratchet strap to hold the ramps against the tiller if I had too. IMG_7776.JPG
