What a great endorsement for having a cab on a tractor!

In days gone by, one could hook to a bumper for a tug. That went sourh when the five mph crash bumpers hit the industry. How many lives that saved, seriously? Never had to try the little screw in attachment on my Subaru front end to see how that works. Trying to pull any newer car would result in much plastic damage.

I have used the thread in tow hook to unstick my VW a couple of times.
You've got to make sure it is fully threaded in before putting a load on it though.

It get a chuckle with these small SUV's owners who think they are invincible. We get similar weather here in upper Michigan influenced by Lake Superior (lake effect snow). Back in early Jan we had similar snow storm. My street was not plowed due to main roads needing constant attention. Anyhow there is a nursing home a block away and this nurse comes up my street driving a newer Chevy Equinox AWD and she has to stop at state hyw. Once stopped she cannot get moving again because the SUV is so low to ground its dragging the 12 inches of snow and tires are spinning. She backs up for running start only it won't move forward in the snow so she keep backing till she is a block away and now can't move forward or back, stuck. I see a neighbor jump behind the wheel and try but he can't move it either and soon it stuck good. So I go and fire up the X738 snow blower to head up to help. While he dug out her tires I blew the street clean of snow for 1 block. The SUV came new with street tires which are useless around here and sits so low that there is no clearance. Some ahole in a jacked up 4wd truck had screwed up the street by spinning his tires and fishtailing, just for fun of it, seen him doing it.

Yes it is all about height above ground and tires. I put this video (below) on this forum before and it has received more than 800k views on Youtube since it was released. Anyway for those who missed it...

RE tires, any vehicle with decent snow tires will do better than the same vehicle with the same amount of tread and all season tires.
it's amazing how much difference there is in grip with snow tires vs "all season" tires.

I find it just amazing that people live in places like that!!! Here in East Texas, winter ended a few weeks ago and wild flowers and trees are starting to bloom. Redbuds look amazing!! I'm wearing shorts and a Tshirt again and just commented to my wife this morning that it's so nice to not need a sweatshirt in the mornings. If it doesn't rain, I'll start mowing this weekend. I've been spraying roundup for a couple weeks now.

Hi Eddie, We are here and have been here because of the fish. Very little farming not only because of the weather but the soil is pretty thin too. But overall the weather is actually very nice - we don't have any real extremes in temperature either way. I'm talking about the Island of Newfoundland not of Canada in general. On mainland Canada, such as in the Ontario and Quebec regions, you will find temperature extremes (both ways) and in summer the humidity becomes pretty heavy and uncomfortable. But each to his own of course.

The loader doesn't show up until the work is done... isn't that always the way. The traction aids which he put under the tires can be life savers sometimes, especially if you have a plow truck. The winter's been so mild here though that I never even got around to putting mine in the truck.

At 0:44 the loader is dimly visible down near the end of the street but I don't think he saw the car in question.
