Lots of traffic on WW lately. Mostly complaints and questions on posting and navigation. Way more than welding related topics.

What seems really noticeable is the absence of trolls and haters who most likely gave up in frustration. Less screen time for them and more time to do real world stuff like beat on their spouses.

Shoot. Did I say that out loud????

We could get something set up next week. The biggest issue is I'm not a welding expert myself so perhaps a brain trust of guys who know the best way to set things up would be good so we get the sections organized nicely from the start.

I'd say 5-7 sections at first and then expand from there. Also I noticed some comments about the color scheme IIRC WW was grey and black, right?

The WW setup before the crash was pretty good. They did not go crazy on subforums, but they covered pretty much exactly what you would want. Not too little, not too much, overall. You can quibble on the margins a little and trim some stuff but overall they had a solid line up. The sponsored forums are the section where you would need to decide if that made sense to continue or not. They still have pretty much the same "tree structure" but the rest of the mechanics are a mess since the crash or whatever happened. The old color scheme was not far off from TBN, though the background was maybe a tad darker gray. No biggie, just was pretty easy on the eyes to read.

If you can get their old content, that would be historical gold, but that is getting tougher especially with the braintrust at Photobucket making a mess of all those old photos people posted.

The other catch would be patrolling the forum and booting off the jerks. There have not been as many in recent years, but the few that stuck around are high quality jerks. Used to be a ton of them, but many gave up or moved on, I guess. The good people there are really a gold mine of knowledge. And they have lost a few real treasures over the past few years (passed away) DSW and Irish Fixit were two of the most notable.

Soon both will be.

so how would a person go about buying WW if we dont even know who to approach about it - it must be a tax write off for someone
