Hello. I was wondering if anybody transports there tractor in a small box truck ? I have a kubota 2650. I知 thinking about a box truck with a 14 box, which my tractor ( without rear attachment ) will fit. Not sure if this is a good idea or not, I知 just thinking out loud. Currently I have no need to transport my tractor, but I知 thinking a box truck could have many uses ! A trailer doesn稚 seem like it has as many uses. Thanks for your input and time. P.s. I love my kubota !!

Everyone's needs/uses vary. For me, I'd use a trailer a lot more than a box truck.

But, if you have a need for a box truck then it could potentially replace a trailer.

My first question would be, how are you going to secure the tractor inside the box? There would be no tie-down points inside the box?

That would be my first question, too. You need anchors rated for that weight fastened into something that's designed to hold that weight.

Also might look at what the floor is rated to carry.

I'm still considering looking for an 18' covered car hauler. My kids move so often, it might be worth it VS my open car hauler trailer.

Yep, that would be a handy alternative.

Especially since the top of my canopy only comes up to my nose. I could drive right in and out just like I do with the current flat bed to load/unload. The only issue I have is that I need to pick up mulch (like once every spring), I can't have it dumped into a closed trailer. So, that's my only downside: bulk loading at other facilities.

My buddy hauled my old l4630 cab with FEL, up from Tampa in a 20 foot box truck. along with a 6 foot bush hog and box blade.
He had to let the air out of the rear tires to get it in. I don't recall if or how he secured it; but he and it arrived unscathed.
We backed the truck up to a stone retaining wall in my folks front yard and were able to drive it out onto the lawn.

I will bet that he didn't secure it; with the brakes set and low air in the tires he probably was OK. Still not a good idea, I like to leave a little room for error.

All fun and games until something goes wrong......
