I agree... and would also include alcohol related illness. My other pet peeve are those who drive with no insurance, they cost the rest of us way too much.

Or how bout Obesity? Or lack of exercise? Or high cholesterol? Or stress? Or eating processed food? Or lack of proper sleep? Or improperly dressing in bad weather? Or???

See how this could get out of control? What I do might seem unacceptable to others so I should be put on the list of those that we aren't going to take care of!!!! What you do might seem unacceptable to me so I want you added to the list!!! Who exactly is going to determine what is supportable behavior and what is not?? Hmmmmmm…….

I don't. Most millenials don't have a clue about gardening in the first place.

Or food preservation or many of the other simple life skills once considered normal. The generations that knew that have mostly passed on.

OK, I have one BIG nagging question about the Wuhan Flu...

How is it determined that after 2 weeks of self quarantine, you are good to go? That's been the benchmark right along. How was that determined and who determined it? In as much as there is no vaccine and in as much as some 'experts' say you can get over it and then get it again... Where does the 2 week duration come in? I'm curious about that.

Use to watch the show regularly. That show jumped the shark a couple of years ago, gave up on it.

Yep. I stopped when Negan was defeated and most of his followers dead. Far as I am concerned, the show should have stopped there. Good stopping place.

I must be old because we do it all the time. I'm the guy with the Sauerkraut thread but we preserve lots of foodstuffs, including meat and not by freezing it all either. Our root cellar is still pretty full of potatoes, onions, carrots, meat in crocks, canned sauerkraut, canned beets, canned tomatoes and spaghetti sauce (wife makes a killer sauce), canned pickles, sweet and dill. We layer carrots in hampers full of sand, they last at least a year that way. We have dried apples and fresh but frozen apple cider in the freezer along with frozen chickens, Elk, deer and bear plus frozen vegetables too.

Only thing we really need is TP......:D

If push came to shove, I could always kill a steer and butcher that. I cut my own meat anyway. We have well water so no city water to worry about and a back up diesel gen set for electricity if needed.... and yes, we have oil lamps and they are full too. One never knows out here in rural American what you will need to survive.

Sure am glad I'm not an urban rat.

You don't!!

I believe the reason is to minimize the spread and flatten the curve. Less contact means it takes longer to infect everyone giving the system time to cope.

He may have been talking about the specific duration of 2 weeks.

Best estimate so far, IMO.... but it may change. 2 months might be safer, but not practical for most.....

Given the # of people living pay cheque to pay cheque already, 2 weeks is going to be pretty rough on some....

Kind of what I thought actually. So, in theory you could get it, (test positive) quarantine yourself for a couple weeks (providing you don't need to be hospitalized), go out and get it again and again and again... Not good at all.

I guess in theory, this (Wuhan Flu) could keep right on giving forever or until there is no one left to infect... Is that correct? That is frigging scary.... Nice gift from the Chinese, I'd say. So infants and young kids are immune (for some reason) but when they reach a certain age (maybe puberty), they they can catch it. How comforting.

Time to devote as much medical science to finding a vaccine and a cure as possible. Running low on TP is inconsequential in reality...
