Was out about an hour ago working on a spring hyd hose support I'm making for my grapple and heard the Martins singing up a song. We have 5 houses, so I better get them cleaned and dusted!

Awesome!!!! I had asked James who lives farther South but he doesn't have any nests so hadn't saw any. I'm 150 miles North of you so should see them in another 5-7 days. I put my nest gourds up ten days ago.

Daffodils are full glory here, and Bradford pears full bloomed out. It is cold today though, about 48.. Far cry from the 70's we have had.
70s??? That's about June around here. :(

Cold (45) and rainy today. But supposed to be back to 73 by Thursday. Then a few more cold days.

I caught a flight from Dallas to Phoenix today. Life goes on. Might drive to NC next week, if the travel becomes an issue.

What might the county take over?

Yes... we are part of strategic disaster response which originated in response to a crippling earthquake.

Emergency Services requested update on medical supply inventory.

I'm sorry, but I'm not following what that would mean for the county to take over a hospital. Is the county contributing money as part of the take over? It seems like the work to be done is the same, regardless of who/what is in charge. I'm puzzled.

It means they're in charge and, at least to some extent, calling the shots ...

Agreed, rife ammo is a lot more trouble. I have the Dillon 550B. Loading shotgun is kind of relaxing on the MEC, but I haven't loaded any in a long time. I just don't have a place to shoot clays anymore. I live in the woods. When I lived near Willard, Mo. I had a great place to throw clays. Of course I ran thru a lot of shotshells in 3 gun too. But I don't shoot competitively any more.

Hear you about the shotgun reloading. Before I moved to the boonies I shoot trap competitively. I had a Spolar Gold hydraulic in three gauges (now sold) and still have a Ponsness Warren 800+ with AutoDrive to load 12 ga. Back then I was loading for my gf as well...about 20k shells a year. When I set up my reloading shop the first year in the new place, this was my shell inventory. About a year supply. Those 5 gal pails hold 525 12 ga shells ea.

Stopped competing about 4 years ago. Miss it but it got too expensive.

BTW, there has been a run of ammunition near me. The only stuff I buy is .22's, as I reload everything else, so no effect on me. I hear gun sales are way up too.

Time to take inventory? I have been pretty dormant on my gun time. Need to brush up! Not just because of CV-19 but just because... insert Boy Scout motto.

Once you get used to the vernacular Defoe's 'Robinson Crusoe' is extremely entertaining...

I've got a hankering to read "Rendezvous with Rama" again...and maybe more of Arthur C. Clarke...great writer!

Assuming that your answer for ultrarunner is accurate, I still don't see the point. How is the county going to do a better job running a hospital than the people who have made it their career to run the hospital?

Because politicians ALWAYS think they know better than anyone else.

I am having the wife pick me up a cell phone today. They say only 7% of the population does not have one, so I was holding out, but with a new job, I had better have one..."

Sad day indeed. Broken Track has got an electronic leash!

This reminds me of many years ago when I was a captain in the police department and my boss, an assistant chief, and I were the only ranking members of the police department who did not carry a pager. Sure enough, the time came when my boss asked me if I wanted one and I did not, but soon after that he and I both had to carry a pager. I don't remember exactly how many years I carried that thing, but in all those years, it rang exactly ONCE. And that time I was on my way to the office and almost there, so even that time it was wasted.

yeah, you are pretty well fixed. I still have supplies to load a few hundred, but I just don't need them anymore.

I had to carry a pager at my old job. I had it clipped to my belt right in front. It was summer, and I was outside my car reaching in through the open window to grab something and it went off for the very first time on my belly right as I bent into the car. I thought I was leaning on a bee and jumped up and hit my head.
