Tractor exhaust pipe modification

/ Tractor exhaust pipe modification #31
Every spring and summer I keep a lookout for branches that can snag the rain cap and I trim them back. That's the #1 reason I have a chain saw holster on the tractor! Besides, I'm with the OP...a good slapping rain cap is a thing of beauty.

Sounds like many folks need to trim their trees up a bit!

not likely to happen, its easier to use a different exhaust than trim trees on miles and miles of farmland and field edges, many dont just use on a 5 or 10 acre hobby farm with a 4 to 5 foot tractor height ;-)

Point taken. However, I have seen and am currently working on reclaiming edges of fields where the farmer simply moved out another 6 inches or whatever to avoid overhanging limbs and whatnot. After enough years of moving out, he lost 30 feet of productive land along the edges and they've become a haven for invasive plant species. I am limited as to how high up I can trim by my equipment so I at least do my part to ensure clearance for my maintenance machinery.

In my case the farmer has big enough equipment so that the tillage tools and combine heads can reach far enough to avoid most overhead hazards. Like with so many things in life, it's much easier to deal with this stuff when it's little than when it's fully grown.
