Beautiful colours deserteagle. I was on my way home from the local town when I spotted that sunset. It didn't last very long so I was pleased to get the shot.

Living in Nevada, I get a lot of photos of smoky sunsets due to all the fires in California. Here's one I took one evening when camped on top of a knoll:

Very nice Van!! You build it?

Nope. Bought it new in 1976 from a converter by the name of Terravan. Drove that thing for 32-1/2 years, until the body literally started falling apart - thousands of miles of rough roads will do that! My current home away from home:

For one person...or two people that don't mind snuggling...a van like this is ideal for outback camping. With lockers front and rear it will go nearly anywhere I could take my Jeep Rubicon. Depending on where I'm going, the dirt bike

Or the Yamaha Kodiak are loaded in the back. When I get to a good camping spot the bike/quad go outside and I set up my "apartment" inside, out of the weather and away from the bugs.

I'm in my mid-70s now and I still love van camping - lets me spend time so far in the back country that sometimes it is a week before I see another person.

That looks fantastic! For sure would be doing the same if my Wife and i lived "near" by. We used to sleep in the back of covered pickup and pull off someplace out in the sticks.

I loved those Van Conversions. They were designed with you in mind!!!! I'm glad you can still enjoy it.

As to your campsites. I have spent many, many, many days/nights in a tent in the high Rocky Mountains with my Jeep. The feeling is very good for my Soul. Not easily explained to someone that doesn't appreciate it. I had a suspicion you were that type man. The picture of the Van confirmed it!!! My hope and prayer for you is many more camping trips.

Great shots, deserteagle! The landscape out there is so foreign to us Appalachian foot-hills types! Beautiful in it's own way.

Wife & I have been using this RTT for about 12 years now, boondoggling around SE Ohio, WV, PA, VA, TN, & NC. I love tent camping, and being off the ground is really nice! :)

Too many years out on an army cot - on the dirt. Even during late moose season - sometime down to minus 15 to minus 20 below zero. Now with the new Ram Power Wagon - flatten out the back seat - air bed. No bugs, no dirt, no cold feet.

When I had a 2500 (2004.5 model) I had no use for the rear seat so I removed it entirely and built a nice flat platform back there. Worked great for hauling stuff I wanted to keep inside and away from prying eyes - and as a bed if I put a mattress on it.
