Digressing slightly, did a quiz a few days ago and one question was what was the name of Gene Autry's horse, I had no idea, I knew the owners of Trigger and Silver but not this one, I do now but wonder how many others don't.

I have always known, at least for the last 70 years. I also know the name of Dale Evan's horse; and Kirk Douglas' horse in "Lonely are the Brave".

I like "Stardust" currently showing on Showtime. Its a bit funny and fantasy. Lots of big names. Don't think Claire Danes was as big of a star (thats a pun if you have seen the movie) when this was made in 2007. Michelle Pfeiffer was never uglier. Robert De Nero wears a dress.

First time I ever saw "All the presidents men" the other week.

Very interesting on how reporters had to do their jobs without computers and electronics. Things we take for granted now.

We had free something this week on movies. The reality is most of them really do suck IMO and I could never see paying even a more for TV. Generally redbox on the weekend if we want to see something new out.

Watched "Coogan's Bluff" the other night; classic Eastwood. A bit far-fetched, but watchable all the way through.

I don't know Gene Autry's horse's name either. But I used to know one of his secretaries. ;)

About 25 years ago a woman in her 70's got a job in my department. She told me all about working at the front desk of his office, all the movie stars that would come through, etc.... she really liked it. She moved back here in the 50's and got an office job at Bendix. She was remodeling her house and was doodling a scaled drawing of the interior when her supervisor asked to look at it. He was impressed with her skill, and moved her into the drafting department! She worked there for 30 years before retiring and coming to work part time at the Newspaper. Single gal. She'd rent a cabin in Wyoming or Montana for a month each summer.

Sounds like an interesting woman. I'll bet she had some very interesting "life" stories!!!!

Yep. She was a lot of fun. She had a brother that looked like her identical twin in that they both had round cheeks, the same smile and the same eyes. She had a job as a clerk/typist, but we moved her into operating a scanner for advertising art and obituary photos. She crocheted a nice sweater and pants for my first child. And she added faux beams to her dining room and did other interesting remodeling projects to her house. One of those multi-faceted self-sufficient types. Would have been a good catch for a young man, if you were up to her standards! :)

How about 'Ace in the Hole' with Kirk Douglas, or 'Touch of Evil' with Orson Wells, Charlton Heston, Janet Leigh and Marlene Dietrich ? I always had a soft spot for film noir. 'Blue Velvet' is pretty good too.
