Over this weekend, and yes keeping safe distance. I and the neighbor put in a mere 40x300 foot garden plot on his homestead. We had a great time e joying the outdoors, getting the soil turned and a few of the tough spots worked out. He'll be placing a mixture of horse & chicken compost onto the tilled area. Let it sit a few days maybe a rain, then we'll till one more time to balance the soil with the compost.
And that's how as a community in my area we are fighting the dumb life-threatening virus with all this time-off.
<snip>...
What the heck, they have taken over all FM stations in my area, I am tuned into the local country station and they are playing jungle jams? Anyone else had their station taken over?
Actually, from what I have been told (by someone who follows such things because their industry depends on H2A workers), H2A workers who have worked in the US previously (and have had their in person interview from previous years) will be allowed through. Those who have not had an in-person interview will not be allowed to come in.Some say, if the virus doesn't get you, the food shortages will. WHY? Borders are closed to allow migrant workers in the fields to get things going.
40x300 feet is a good sized garden, and will grow a lot of weeds as well as crop plants. I like your enthusiasm and hope that it does well.
Wow, haven't seen that in our market. One of the local country stations does have someone who comes on and talks about how we're all in this together and there isn't anybody else they'd rather go through it with. After the 50th time it's annoying and condescending.A rather strong station in my area defaulted to full time Christmas music, automated station ID'ing, no news, no weather, nothing else.
It's not even Christmas. It's one of 2 stations that defaulted over to this nonsense broadcasting in the past 48 hours.
Thanks.
For weed control, garden black mat covering will be used, much like a plant nursery.
