I got into reading old classics when I bought one of my first smart phones. It came pre-loaded with the Kindle app and a couple of classic books. I learned that there is a whole library of free classic literature that is well outside of the copyright period.

One of the pre-loaded books was "Pride and Prejudice." WORST. BOOK. EVER!!! Some family in the lower portion of the upper class is concerned about whether their daughters will get married to men of suitable caliber. Spoiler alert - nobody cares!

I kept thinking something was going to happen, and it never did. I ended up finishing the book on principle. I had to read "Treasure Island" just to recover. Now THAT'S a book! It had pirates, treasure, sword fights, and everything.

There are NO pirates in "Pride and Prejudice." They would have helped the story.

Treasure Island was the first large book I read. It took most of the summer .around year 1944 between chores. mowing hay and stacking into large stacks. before bailers. swimming and riding the bicycle.

Wife has always cut my hair, but she will not let me cut hers for some reason? Had a short beard but same wife demanded I shave so masks will fit tighter. Neighbors infant saw me sans beard and got concerned I was some sort of stranger.

My wife won't cut my hair so it's getting longer and longer. If this situation goes long enough, i'm going to braid it and wear a pony tail.

Mom always cut everyone's hair except Dad... she did not want to until his Barber retired.

Saved a bundle over the years...

Dad's barber bought us professional clippers... $20 fifty years ago.

We still visit our friend about once every 2-3 days when it is pleasant enough to sit outside. He is 3 miles away and only 3 other houses along the way. I suppose we could be fined if the DNR stopped us (no police patrol this remote area). Going there is no problem as we can say we are going to the convenience store/gas station 10 miles away. Going home is safe as we can see if the DNR is out from my friends place and the only other way onto the road home is from a two track.

Last visit he tells wants me he want me to do some tractor work for him. Looks like about 2 hours of grading and moving soil to build an embankment. Worried about the Gestapo making an issue of it if I get stopped. Just a dumb rule for everyone to stay at home when someone can stay safe while getting on with life. BTW, not doing it to make a buck...just helping out a friend.

Some states making criminals out of folks going out while releasing convicted criminals. What kind of sense does that make?

Social Distancing makes perfect sense during a virus outbreak especially if the spred can be done by symptom-less Morons. I wouldn't want to be the cause of someone else getting sick or dying.

Not much. Not much at all.

I had an appointment with my Endocrinologist and was able to do it by video chat instead of driving 125 miles. Win-Win for both of us and a lot less stress.

You say you're in the middle of nowhere! Who's going to patrol there? By the way, farming is exempted. If you're really worried about causing trouble, call your local sheriff and ask them directly.

There is nothing wrong with helping a friend if everyone can stay safe while doing it. This Covid-19 Virus is not a 1st Amendment issue, it is a health issue and people need to distance themselves from each other for a bit.
