without getting into a side discussion, it was my understanding that when doing heavy ground engagement to use the lower hole on the top link.

You could be right I won't argue because I haven't educated myself on the subject but you still have the top hole on the disc that you could use. I vaguely remember reading something about it years ago.

I don't think that makes that much of a difference since most US tractors doesn't have draft control.

On tractors with draft control, the top hole means no draft control as the top link hits a bolt to stop the movement. Middle hole will have draft control with higher sensitivity and the bottom hole will have less sensitivity and it's used for higher draft loads.

One thing you could do, we have done in the past also, is get a couple of cat 1/2 combination pins (step pins), slide them from the outside to center. This would give you a cat one pin facing inward to give you more clearance.

Im not trying to be right. I tried multiple different combinations of the top and bottom holes with varying results. Im still learning this stuff.

Yes flip your bolts over, with the scallops in your wheel centers you may be able to unbolt the rims from the centers after jacking just a bit and rotate the centers and walk the rims out,
rotate and jack to line up the holes and be good

Equipment manufactures have been utilizing spacers on 3 pt hitches to go between different size category hitches since the early 70's. IMHO if you alter wheel spacing in lieu of utilizing spacers to stop hitch rubbing tires you must really like hard work & if you choose to move tires from one side to the other side it's "dangerous work". I've had a lot of experience changing wheel tread spacing on tractors when I was employed by a dealer for 21 yrs.

IMHO if you alter wheel spacing in lieu of utilizing spacers to stop hitch rubbing tires you must really like hard work & if you choose to move tires from one side to the other side it's "dangerous work". :thumbsup: aside from owning my own implement the spacer to hold the links inward or step pin is the best and most efficient solution.
