This looks like a fun rig, maybe not good for bushy hardwood but good on softwood

They use them in the hardwoods as well, we do some out here but nothing like the Lake states do. It’s really impressive to actually watch one cut and start feeding a 37’ or 41’ long out then hit that measurement dead on every time.

They use processors quite a bit here, also. Depending on the size of the machine they cut big hardwood as well as softwood. We don't have any 200 foot trees for them to fell, though.

Yes that would diffidently help, that's one thing that is not seen, a dozer with back-hoe, unless thats called an excavator.

Use to be a fairly common site, to see a back hoe on the rear of a dozer... The dozer was terrible to run as a dozer with the hoe mounted though. BUT, I guess any day you can ride your hoe, is a good day... lol

Then with the explosion of the track hoe, they just went away!

Even better when grabbing on a stump/boulder a tractor stays in one piece. I think the best solution is to get a bigger trailer then pick one of these up, make sure you keep the boom low on your way over......

Yeah about that, isn't that a lot of over-hang on that rig?

I don't think that I would soak a piece of wood in antifreeze if I was going to make a table out of it. I have heard of people using it to rehydrate loose ax handles though.

first off I apologize for being 2 weeks behind, but propyline glycol is not poisoness, it is used in outdoor water heaters that have a water to water radiator that has a risk of leaking into your potable water. Secondly, I was reading a bottle of clearlax which is a constipation reliever, it is pure propylene glycol. I guess it absorbs and holds onto water and keeps your stool from drying out which is probably how it keeps the wood from drying out.

It’s about 10’ past the last bunk on the extension with that setup it puts all the weight up to the center. The extension is sliding for road hauling as well as getting up and down some of the ground we see out here in the PNW it starts at the front bunk after the headache.

That’ll buff right out, on that subject a few years ago a harvester like this one get spun around on a lowboy when the boom found an overpass.

My employer was having a brand new processor delivered a few years ago when the machine cleaned out the first bridge past the dealership while going up the interstate... I don't believe that we used that carrier again.
