What dumb thing did you do today?

This happened a couple of years ago. I thought I was going to be frugal and buy one of those printer cartridge refill kits. All the instructions were pretty straightforward and simple. I was thinking “ man, this is saving a lot of money “ . So, I am filling a black cartridge with the included syringe..... POP !! The darn cartridge exploded all over, me, the table, and the wifey (who was watching standing next to me). Let me tell you, that black ink does not come off....anything!
We went into the bathroom.... we both looked like Dalmatians! :shocked: We tried everything to get the spots off... nothing worked including lacquer thinner! I had to go to work looking like that... needless to say, a bunch of joking co-workers for days. Finally, the spots wore off / washed off after about a week.

It does not matter... I will pay whatever they charge for ink cartridges....

That is funny! Here is my version with a printer, not so much dumb thing, well maybe so. But a good tip nonetheless!

I've left gallon cans of boundary line paint in the woods, only to come back and find that a bear had gotten into it. On one occasion I was headed back to the line from a different road than previously, and was rather shocked to find orange paint where I knew there shouldn't be any. He had rubbed against a tree and it looked just like we do on trees which are too small to spot.
Then there was the bear which drank 2 gallons back when we were using lead based paint. I doubt that he survived.

I'm filing that ink refill syringe thing in my upstairs memory box, I just dont see how that can happen.

I gave Walgreens a try with their refilling service, seems like they didn't get them very full..ran out quickly. Lately, I have been buying remanufactured cartridges through Amazon..Myink. Good results so far, and much cheaper than new cartridges.

I used to refill a lot of ink cartridges. and still have a lot of ink and the syringes, BUT a lot of the later cartridges have a chip in them that knows how much they have been used and you can refill but the cartridge won't work. There are some ways to reset the chips, but the whole thing is pretty much more trouble than it is worth now. The whole HP model of selling printers is to "give" you the printer and charge out the nose for the ink to make them work. A royal PITA if you ask me. I am liking the new model of some of the printer manufacturers of charging a real price for the printer that has "tanks" that are easily refilled with ink. This fits with my worldview. HP can go "somewhere", I am not interested in their products anymore.

My wife had apparently never used superglue before, so she didn't know that it pretty much bonds instantly to the skin. She asked today to borrow the glue to fix an easter decoration that had broken. She got some stuck on her index finger and touched her thumb to it and commented how sticky it was. Then she pressed her index and thumb together making the OK symbol and said it's OK Glue and laughed. Then said her fingers were stuck, why were they stuck and she couldn't get them apart. This is a lesson I learned as a youth, quite a few times. I don't know how anyone could make it to their adult life without realizing the effects of superglue. She started panicking and I was laughing.

And I said "How dumb are you?" jokingly of course. And that was the dumb thing that I did today. Didn't get any desert after dinner
