I recently purchased a used 2400, the FEL worked fine for a few weeks but yesterday it slowing lost power and speed. It got to the point where it wouldn't even push the front tires off the ground. I let it sit overnight and today when i started it, it had enough power to push the tires up and seemed faster, but slowly went back to slow and weak while i was working. I changed the filter and put fresh oil in it, but there is no change in the lack of power. There are no leaks and all connections seem secure.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's just the loader? Everything else is fine, like steering and 3 pt?

I would re-seat all the connections on the loader first. Sometimes, brush hit the collar and pops the quick disconnect out, even though it looks fine at first glance.

Also, did you change engine oil or hydraulic/transmission fluid? Always use Branson hydraulic filters for the transmission. Aftermarket ones are known to cause the issues you're dealing with.

Like mentioned earlier if it's just the front loader and not the other hydraulics then it's probably not the pump but, if everything is affected then it's probably in the pump. Look for somewhere to install a pressure gauge on the discharge side of the pump to eliminate the pump.

Mind furnishing your references. Info without origin is useless!!!!!!

On the leak, recently "I" (my reference) had similar problems and the loader indicated the problem more than the 3 pt. On my 6530 there is a rubber hose connecting the TDH sump to the common shaft main and steering pumps. Close inspection revealed that over the last 13 years of ownership, the rubber had deteriorated and cracked such that when the hyd pumps sucked, they not only sucked oil from the sump, but added some ambient air from the cracks. Air compresses, oil doesn't. Replaced the hose and things worked like new.

Between this forum and other forums, there are plenty of threads where the issues of slow hydraulics or even destroyed hydraulic pumps caused by using exactly aftermarket hydraulic filters. I'm pretty sure you know this, not sure where did that post came from though.

If you go on Branson groups on Facebook, you'll see lots of dealers saying the same thing.

Just because the filter looks the same, doesn't mean the inside are the same.

I used a Branson filter from the dealer. So its a 2014 and the previous owner never changed the filters or oil. It had 206hrs on it when I got it. There seems to be no effect on the steering or the 3pt operation.
So yesterday I started it up in morning and it was still weak and slow, started it up in the afternoon and it was able to raise the front wheels and was faster.
I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to change the filter again because when I changed it there was some debris in the bottom of the drain pan. It seems like something is blocked somewhere and gets dislodge sometimes is the reason it works intermittently.

I would run it for awhile to get all the hyd oil thru the filter , working the loader, etc. Then change it maybe 20 hours......

Are you certain there is no air in the lines? Extend and retract all of the cylinders, including the 3pt lift, completely a few times slowly, let it rest at the top and bottom for a few seconds to let the air bubbles accumulate. moving the system too fast with air bubbles causes cavitation and the fluid becomes frothy. If there is any air it should purge after awhile. Also double check the fluid level, if it is too low then it will suck air with the cylinders extended causing your problem to continue.

No I'm not certain, I will try that. Will the air purge itself are there relief valves somewhere?
