Im looking at a used pronovost 508 3s trailer. it has roughly a 5x8 bed. sides that fold down as well as latching tailgate.

It is rated at 4 tons gross and it is in good working order. Headboard has a little bow, generally dinked up a bit from use but very serviceable.

Tires are good.

This one will dump to the rear and by moving the pins you can dump to the right or left.

I think new these units are pushing 7,000.00 and there may be some freight on top of that.

This one does not have self contained hyd, have to run it with my tractor.

Could I get some insight on fair money to purchase it. I like it. Thinking around $3500.00 would be good.

Really tough to say without pictures, but heres my take on used attachments: Unless it's like-new condition, the typical selling price in average condition is about 40-60% of new. Sounds like youre offering less than 1/2 price of new, so I think youre in good shape. Used equipment market is soft right now in my area. And since it’s bent headboard and dinged-up in spots and an off road trailer, I’d say go for it.
I buy & sell my fair share of equipment and thats about what I buy/sell for.

I think this is a very regional type of question.
Around here, a good used trailer of any type goes for almost new price. I could sell my 6x10 dump for 5-6g all day long. new is about 7-8. This one is not in primo shape.
My father sold a 7x14 cargo trailer that was about 8 years old for more than he paid for it new! mind you the price has gone up on them quite a bit in that time.
Good luck on your purchase! Sounds like a nice trailer

Same out my way. I can count on always buying new equipment and using it for years then selling it for darn near what I paid for it.

I bought a used 2005 Cross Country 5x8 single axle, from a rental place in 2011 for $1350.

It was in rental condition, lol, but fully functional. I overhauled it, and was into for about $2k when done. Sold it in 2017 for $1850.

Yup....I agree...
Can't really figure out why people even buy used trailers, unless they like spending time and money fixing up trailers.
Worn/dry rot tires, bad decking, broken lights, brakes in less than new condition, bad paint, and they often pay within a few hundred of new.

Trailers hold their value good. You’re not going to buy one that’s not crap for 40-60 percent.
