Neighbor dog on my property harassing wildlife

We were walking up a trail to mark some wood and my dog was right at my heels. Suddenly the guy behind me said "Hey, she just grabbed a rabbit!" Five of us had stepped over it without even noticing.
I told her to drop it; the rabbit hopped off about ten yards and dropped over dead. I think that it got scared to death.

For accuracy it actually was a varying hare; there are no rabbits this far north, unless they're in a hutch.

Do we know what happened about the Original Posters situation? Is there any conclusion to this?

Do we know what happened about the Original Posters situation? Is there any conclusion to this?

My meeting with the neighbor was delayed. And I stopped reading about page 30 as several posters kept turning it into a gun thread.

My situation is I am meeting the neighbor soon, possibly today. I will post when I have an update.

OK, since moose were introduced I can tell my tale.
Last W/E wife and her friend were taking their daily 'virus walk' and came face to face with a young moose.
The moose actually walked up to them and being scared they hid behind a big tree and call for her husband to came with his car to 'save' them.

The moose simply wanted to bond with humans, or so it seems.
He (actually a she) would follow anybody she met up with.
Conservation folks said not to attempt to feed her (like a moose likes human food).

The accepted theory is the moose was diseased and kind of mentally deranged.
Next day she showed up at the mail boxes and a young (fearless) couple led her back to her forest homesite.

She also actually followed a 90 year old lady all the way to her doorsteps.

Ex wife killed a cow and yearling calf with .22 shorts, one shot each at about 15 yards. The moose had trampled and killed out dog several days earlier and we thought we had ran them off. Nope, moose chased the kids in the house, scared the Ex and instead of firing over their heads, she popped 'em both. They ran about 50 yards and dropped side by side.

She called me at work and I told her to call the baby sitter and then Fish & Game to report the shooting and they may be hauling her to jail. (Scared the crappola out of her). Anyway, she was absolved of any wrong doing and that her actions were justified after viewing all the evidence. Both moose were harvested within 2 hours by folks on the roadkill list.

I never thought .22 shorts could kill moose but I learned that anything is possible.

You can kill anything with just about any size firearm if you hit it in the right place. 22 short in the eyeball will do it, no problem. Even a BB gun will do it.

One thing for certain, that Moose had plenty of vermin tagging along. Moose are flea breeders.

read a disparaging comment from the OP concerning firearms. My only comment to him (or her) is, if you are anti firearm, use a BB gun or a slingshot to dispatch the cur, but be prepared to get bit....
