I highly recommend the Hella halogen beacon. I bought this and haven’t installed it yet but this has a removable light that can be taken off without tools when working in the woods and installed when plowing in the winter. There’s various mounting options and the one shown is just of of many. It has a dust boot.
What I like about this light is it’s absolutely made for rugged environments. The lighthead actually flexes, the bulb can easily be replaced with an H1 55w lamp.
I’ve been an emergency vehicle upfitter since 92’ and nothing beats the simplicity of a crisp flash of a halogen rotator, especially for high vibration equipment because it’s rubber insulated.

I agree totally! But people are like sheep, and nowadays it's got to be LED! You have to spend a lot to get an LED beacon worth having. At night, anything works, but in daylight, different story.
I still like XNeon too. That is/was a really cool effective technology although I doubt anyone makes them anymore.
You don't need to impress, only get someones attention. Once they know your there, the light is meaningless.

I've said a bunch of times that NOTHING beats a Halogen Sealed Beam. For a single beacon on a tractor, a single 1156 style bulb and a rotating mirror is probably fine and won't overdraw the electrical system. But the older Beacon Rays with four 50W lamps could kill a small power system.
Do you remember the early Whelen or Dietz strobes with the incandescent 'dwell' lamps? And to tickle your memory further, I still have a couple of 'NIB' 100W red GE Halogen sealed beams.

I bought a few of the LED amber “ rotating “ beacons from Amazon for like 25 bucks and put them on all my tractors. They came with a mount, too.
I figure I usually rip at least one beacon off per year anyway on branches along fields or bush hogging :laughing: so these are practically disposable.
Thing is, they work great!

I started using lights like this a while back. They only protrude a fraction of an inch and are barely noticeable till you hit the switch. The L4240 has one over each door and a couple others here and there. I run about 1-1/5 miles to town for snow removal and wanted more lighting than the factory installed.
