I'd say the garage door has to raised up some how, folding rops up and down all the time is a pain in the gutter.

I agree. I was talking to my brother about replacing the garage door on my father's workshop. He said to save money we would replace the 8 foot door with a 7 foot, and put the roll bar down every time. He doesn't seem to understand what a pain that would be.

That sounds like a terrible plan. Not to mention how much money you’d save having to buy another door after you crashed into it.

Get him to put the ROPS up and down about 10 times. Hopefully by then he would have it figured out.

That sounds like a good idea. We've moved on from that idea to just fixing the existing door, as well as his plan to have the barn torn down because the beams need to be jacked and propped.

I have 6.5 ft. garage doors in drive in basement garage, the way the house was constructed won't allow for taller doors. The good news is that I have only once forgotten to fold down the ROPS, about a week ago...I was going really slow, and heard the little crunch. Just made a tiny pucker in the metal trim, not enough to notice unless pointed out.

What happen to the new outside garage with bigger door, is that still on paper......... 6-5 must be tight for full size pickup, my garage door is 12x12 oh yeah plenty of room.
