Yep, been wet here for ten days or so. Farming came to a halt. Looks like we'll be wet for another week also. The yard grass is loving it though!!!

Yep. Sorry for the lack of updates. Been working on some other projects the last few weeks. I've drained it once and its full again. Rain everyday for the next week so still on hold at the moment.

Over the time I dug my pond and re designed the dam and took out my island, I put around 2000 hours on my 2 inch Honda water pump. I would pump it and dig a little, it would rain while I was at work during the week. I'd pump more, then let it dry out. Dig a little more. Rain filled it up. Pumped it out again. Let it dry out a couple of days. Dig a little more. That kept going over a few years.
hugs, Brandi

We had several sections of 2" waterline left over from the home build so I showed the kids how to make a siphon drain. The 2" line will move plenty of water for the current size I'm draining.

I used a siphon drain also, but could only siphon down 3 feet. That extra 2 inches of pipe sure helps when the pond is over full and you want it drained yesterday.

How did you fill with water to get it started?
I learned how to siphon water at a young age, we used to drain the wash tubs that way.

Installed a T with screw in cap to pour water into and shutoff valve on the downhill side.
