Price of meat almost doubled here...do you folks have a meat processor nearby?

Catfish are my favorite fresh water fish. Them's good eatin'. You can pull some big ones out of the Long Tom.

I don't even know how anyone breaks even at those prices.

It has to be imported meat...

No feedlots and locally processed. Local geography produces lots of pasture and only enough water for the cows to drink. The industrial feedlots have a huge overhead in shipping losses and CAFO sewage disposal. Plus, the big packers screw both the rancher and the customer blind.

We used a fishwheel last year and the salmon were all smaller than I remember as a kid. Even the Kings were small. No matter, they still taste good.

it seems to me like cutting out the food processors and selling directly to butchers would bring more profit to the farmers.. look how much meat costs in stores!.

Haha Just a beagle but he runs me. The Wife ran a dog team for a few years though.
