OH my God... the story of my life after getting the sawmill!!! Some I cut up and add to the firewood pile, some I just burn as is, and some I store to do that to later cause I cant figure out what to do with it!

That problem will go away soon as I get $100.00/bird house contract from Walmart.........

A loader wouldn't have done me any good...

EXCEPT, I could have fixed the washout when I got out, but I wasn't getting paid for that, nor was I there to do that.

AND, I wasn't on my loader tractor... :)

Says the guy that didn't have FEL on his tractor, tell me another one before that one cools off....

It does not matter the size of the building, it will always be full!!

Of course! The junk expands to fit the space available.

We built a two car garage with a third bay running sideways of the back for the tractor. It didn't take long for enough stuff to accumulate that we could no longer fit the tractor in it's bay. The two car garage was also my wife's woodworking shop. We'd pull the cars out to give her space to work. It always seemed to happen that a one or two week project would expand or get delayed and stretch out months. We added a lean-to off the back to store the lawnmower and some of the other random stuff. (It's still lawnmower parking, but the other half is filled with firewood.)

In an effort to be able to park our cars in the garage again, we built a 24'x26' shop with a drive-out basement. The upstairs is her woodworking shop, the downstairs is mine. It was a matter of about 8 months before our cars were back out in the driveway again. We finally realize that this was getting ridiculous, and did a bit of a "purge" so at least two cars are back in the garage (the newest - my wife's 2019 Chevy Bolt, and the oldest - my 1951 Dodge M37 truck get the garage spots. The kids hand-me-down Subaru Forester sits in the driveway, and our old minivan is in the grass, waiting for the day when my wife finally agrees we don't need it anymore.)

... and I've come up with a great way to find those thingys when they are lost in the jumble and I know I have one, but just can't find it: go out and buy a new one. Guaranteed that once it is installed, the old one will turn up within a couple days.

Ok, so it doesn't just happen to me???

I tried a different ploy. Last year I wanted a cover for my PTO shaft when nothing was attached... so I bought two. My logic was that if I kept the second on the shelf as a backup I will never lose the first.
Now if I can just remember which shelf I put it on... :D

I used to have that problem too, but after awhile I got really tired of spending more time looking for stuff than doing stuff.

I am going to be hated by a lot of people on here I know, but what I do is just work for awhile, then the FIRST time I try to grab something, and I cannot immediately put my hands on it, I stop, and put all my tools back. ALL of them. Then I start again. By that I mean, let's say I need to find my 1/2 drive, 9/16 socket, and it is not in the toolbox, and it is sitting on the fender of the tractor. It is NOT in the toolbox, so I stop, and put ALL my tools back.

I might stop and clean up 4-5 times in a day, typically about once every two hours. Obviously at the end of the day, all my tools are put away for the start of the next day.

It sounds silly, but what I found is, it takes only a minutes to put everything back if you do it more often, and it actually makes me more productive over all.

OK OK, I'll tell why there's no picture!

A few years ago a customer friend of mine came over, when he was leaving he started down the road and reached down for something on the floor, and drove right into the ditch, high centering his pu!! He was sitting there with all 4 wheels turning!! lol lol

Anyway, I drove over there with my tractor, hooked a chain on, and jumped off with a camera, he was REALLY embarrassed! I razzed him about that from time to time and his face would always get red.

WELL, guess who's property I was at when I high centered my tractor??

SO, I was trying pretty hard to get that tractor out, BEFORE my friend showed up with a camera!! I already felt like Homer!

SO, now you know "the rest of the story!"

Started sawing 6x6s and 6x8s for bridge construction today, going with two 5' wide panels so since my trees are on the small side gonna need around 17-ish trees, or one redwood would do it.
