Brought it home from dealer yesterday they cant figure it out and said Mahindra is not responding so they have no where to go. They are going to wait for the service rep from Mahindra to come in and call me to bring tractor back down so he can listen to it. Funny thing is the noise is worse now then before. I checked all lug nuts and everything is tight. The fact that the dealer was messing with the steering hydraulics and pump and now it's worse leads me to believe it might be something related? I will try get a video of the noise

Did you ever come to a solution for this problem? I have a similar situation with a 3616!

No I did not.. dealer could not figure it out and the bill was ringing up so I opted to live with it.. It got worse in winter for sure but remains the same now that summer is back. I cam to the conclusion that there is air getting injected into the hydraulic system as everytime the dealer bled the system it got better for a while. I can also feel the clicking/popping when I steer it suggesting that there is air in the system. I believe that somehow the air is getting introduced in the pump but can't prove it unless I rebuild or replace the pump. I also believe that the hydraulic steering isn't working as good as it should , when I have a load in the bucket I can't turn the wheels unless I am moving.- Does yours do this?

Thanks for your response. This is a used tractor so I don't know if it has made this noise in the past. I will try bleeding the steering hyd system. No difference with steering under load. Mine seems as more of a noise than a feel and it is random?

SSPENST, Thanks for the offer. I have the service manual from Mahindra for Gear/HST/CAB so I think I already have it, although not in PDF.

Check if there is any evidence that the fan blade isn't contacting the shroud frame frame deflection

Mine made the same type noise as you describe (marbles clanking around) with broken gear teeth in the left front differential. Couldn't really tell where the sound was coming from until I jacked up the tractor and started turning its wheels. Steering was difficult at times because the teeth, as they rolled around, would sometimes get lodged between ring and pinion gear. Not all the time because of the randomness of the teeth being tossed around as the wheel rotated.

Had to replace both ring and pinion and found all the gear teeth pieces within the front 4wd housing..
