Mf gc1705 inadequate protection plate

I have not and I recently installed a Bro-Tek undercarriage plate to protect those things. I recently just installed my drive over mower deck. The plate allows you the ability to hook up ur PTO for the mower deck without removing the plate itself. Which I thought was awesome. I just installed the plate about 2 months ago. I do lot of work in the woods as we have 10 acres of woods with our house. So before I would have to take it easy and hope a branch wouldn't hit the hydraulic fan or the filter. Now I don't have to worry about either. Its a bit pricey for what it is but it works.

Any problems fitting your hand and the shaft into the cutout?

So a couple of things here when i first hooked up my mower deck. I would always pin my mower deck first then hook up the pto. Well now you must hook up the pto b/c the shaft is a bit to long so you need the extra space to hook it up. Basically i slide my pto shaft through the cutout. The brotek skid plate allows access from the side so i simply put my hand through the side and slide the pto on. Its pretty easy although i was a bit annoyed the first time. I have not had any hassles hooking it up. I do remove my deck often bc I till, bush hog, do work in the woods.

Buying from a dealer definitely has definitely put this particular situation in a whole new category for us...the dealer we bought from went bankrupt has left us to a dead end as far as warrenty service and proper proof. Seriously considering going public with this situation, probably local news media for starters..

Good luck with that. If you look at other sub compact manufacturers their designs are very similar for the hydraulic filter and the fan. Kubota, Massey and Kioti are the ones I know for sure that have similar setups and have similar issues. That is why there is a market for for an after market skid plate, not saying it is right.

No problem. The skid plate is an easy install as well.
