. I'm using red oak for my bridge build cause it's strong, stands up to weather fairly good.....
I've heard that it's not great outside, that white oak lasts better. I also have a lot of cedar to cut boards out of, thought that would be awesome for the siding on the shed that would house the mill.
Most of us cut the wood pieces smaller, then move them, then burn them. But you do what works for you Spankan!!
Oak is not the best but it will outlast hemlock or pine that I have, course anything will last longer if some sort of wood preserver is put on it, I might try the stuff hunt mention that HD sells. I like cedar lumber wish I had some on my land, my son has to buy it to run his business.
