Started using a battery powered sawzall for the roots if my little tractor won’t take care of them. Rather throw away that bade than destroy my chainsaw blades.

I have to second the sawzall. Get a decent set of blades for wood. I have been happy with the Dewalts. Others would dull too quick. The Chainsaw will dull almost immediately (don;t ask how I know). Took out a base stump a little over 2 feet in diameter by using a sawzall on the bigger roots, otherwise you will have to dig out many feet from the stump to get sight of a breakable root.

Well there is this 700-800 pound granite boulder maybe 48 inches in diameter after 4-5 hours boulder is still where it was for a few thousand years and poor little anemic SCUT is back in shed...

Block and tackle to lift? I have been able to move a rock that weighs about 1200 pounds (actual measured weight) by pushing it from either side.
Moving a large boulder like that is awkward. Straps and the drawbar might move it too.

YEP... Rethinking strategy...Obviously using FEL approach did work even when I tried to dig it out.... This thing is about 7/8 covered with dirt and sticks up enough to clip blades of JD riding mower....

Maybe a deeper hole next to the rock and bury it :)

Thanks guys, I did use and dull the one blade I had for my dewalt corded reciprocating saw. I will buy more blades.

Maybe an explosive product, the 4th of July is near and the old saying "you can kill two birds with one stone".

I second this along with needing the video of you blowing it outta the ground.

If you have a hammer drill there are expansive slurries that will break that rock up so you can remove it. One brand is Dexpan but there are others. A neighbor and I teamed up to remove a large boulder from our road that had defeated us for 30 years.
