I have a sweet Wisconsin TJD that would be a nice fit for such a conversion. For those of us here that like to tinker and have the ability and tools for fun stuff, bring it on.
Your too late, it's already been done,

OR do you like THIS Wisconsin better?

Nice. Think I'd went with an air cooled V-Dub engine however. I sure like the Wisconsin's.

Air cooled dub engines are crazy expensive these days. Lived and breathed them in the mid sixties and through the seventies. Wisconsin is a better fit in this case. Might persue the idea after my fel blower project is up and running.

No fair here this year because of the virus means I'll miss sitting in the bleachers for 2 solid days and nights of tractor pulling.
And I always try to catch a bit of the stock, super stock and modified garden tractor pulls.
They may not be real tractors but they can be impressive.
Limited Pro stock diesel garden tractor pulling 115 lb class Columbus 214 - YouTube
Youtube has a great many videos of them pulling.

I never made it up to those pulls at the Washington County Fair but I know a lot of guys that did regularly and knew a few that pulled there in the good old days. Used to be some pretty hot 1066s there.

Still are, I'm hoping that at least some pulls get going this year.
All the county fairs are being canceled :hissyfit:

Having fun by calling folks ignorant reinforces your place on my ignore list. Sadly I had to look to see what the fuss was about.
My bad.

RickB, I think your assessment is right in the mainstream, i.e. simply the fact that some refer to small, err Very Small tractors are toys is their personal opinion. Right or Wrong - its their opinion, to which they're entitled.

Before I bought my first tractor I answered an ad for a BX priced right. When I went and looked at it, I also told the seller that I wasn't in the market for a toy tractor. I already had a lawn mower larger and more powerful than the BX. When I finally went to the tractor dealers, I realized that nothing smaller than a L-size Kubota would fit my needs.

Certainly I wish I hadn't insulted the seller of the BX tractor by calling his unit a 'toy'. My opinion, but it should have been kept to myself, not slamming the seller, although I my opinion and mindset, I think I was right.

Often a tractor the size of a BX is ideal for one's use. Anything larger would be a White Elephant - to them. Even so, I would not refer to them as "ignorant". Their needs, their wants, their opinion - every one's entitled to their own.

My first tractor (which I have bought 3 times, sold 2) was a Ford 1100 subcompact 4x4 and it has served me well for many years! It is a 1978 model and will crank up and run and mow the yard pulling the 5 foot finish mower behind it. (Yes the blades need to be sharp) and it does show it is under powered if I get into thick grass but I think it would do great with a smaller one. I used it with a 4 foot bush hog for years, but the last time I bought it back, the deck of the bush hog was rusted away!

The Ford 1100 is 13 horsepower engine, 10 or 11 at the pto.
