I do believe that the "tractor" versus the "toy tractor" is mostly determined by looking at the physical size of the tires, and what is mostly overlooked is the working capabilities of each tractor, such as HP, PTO, TLB.

Oh it is always the SCUT versus the CUT, and the "S" in SCUT does stands for sub...

You don't use a 60lb sledge to drive nails to frame a house. When I was young, my current 50hp tractor would have been called a garden tractor. I enjoy my tools(toys). And today, I use a nail gun to frame with. My son's 26hp may be a toy to some, but due to it's size and weigh, it can do a better job at times. And than my wife still uses a push mower for the front yard.
A toy is something to play with. A tool is something to work with. I like to work and play at the same time. Pick the right tool for the right job and enjoy it.

I think there have been a great many more times I needed, a bigger machine, more power, more lifting capacity, higher lift hight, higher ground clearance, better traction, better break-out, then ever wishing I had a smaller machine for the job at hand. Not saying it doesn't happen. So do eclipses.

I have my toy, it's a SCUT and it does lots of work.
Gee, now I've confused myself :)

SCUTS are like model cars, a very small version of the real thing. and models ARE toys.. they can be fun, but nothing like the real thing if that's what you need!.. has anyone flown in a model plane recently??..

The other side of the argument "bigger vs smaller",
A smaller machine is limited in what work it can do and a larger one can do a lot more more easily.
A smaller machine is also limited in the amount of damage one can do to equipment and tractor, a larger machine will more easily bend, break or destroy.
All this is based on operator experience or lack thereof and I do know whereof I speak:p

Smaller "toys" can work in places a "real" machine can't. :)

This is meant to be a fun thread lol. I call it a subcompact because the only thing big is the transmission and rear tires. This guy has more videos one even running a hay baler.

The frame is sorta big as well. Sorry the only thing remotely subcompact is the engine..

Don’t get me wrong I love SCUTs. But this is not one lol
