Dudley, I appreciate how you feel.
I don't know how the TBN handles abusive posters that are breaking published rules, but seems logical that rather than allowing them to cause the closing of a thread, the poster would be warned, then given a "timeout" from TBN for some published period. Seems they are being rewarded instead. Upside down.
If they are not breaking published rules, then it seems the thread should be left open.

They simply close the thread and move on. That's why it's also the same people causing problems and not respecting rules over and over again.
It got to a point that Muhammad had to create an entire new forum (TopNewsTalk) in hopes that the problematic people on TBN would move over them and bet each other virtually. But, these problematic people, insist on coming to TBN causing threads to be closed...

It's the same three, maybe four.
Those could be put on Post Moderation where their posts would have to be reviewed and approved before being viewable publicly.

The virus thread and comments were moved to the TNT sub forum where they belong. This is a tractor forum, not a political or news forum. The Corona Virus thread is alive and well in the TNT sub forum. If you want to post a comment, go there and sign up.
Be apprised though, the TNT sub forum can be tough going at times. You'd better have a thick skin to post there. No nicey-nicey stuff.
Darn I missed getting in on a closed thread, I better get on this before it's to late. I just went to look at that closed thread to see what the brouhaha was all about, so I went back a couple pages and to be honest I didn't see a thing worth closing a thread down for, the problem is you people and Mods are wearing your feelings on your shirt sleeves and trying to be to politically correct like to days society has become, well I from the old school. Some say FP had nothing to with tractors well half the threads here have nothing to do with tractors and you didn't have to subscribed to FP, half the threads here is just shop talk like why is the sky blue.......... So go a head vote me off the island, kick me off TBN, make my millennium, I dont care............

There are a few that will always just never get it and never understand that "they" are the problem. TBN does a really good job overall and I admire what the moderators do. They are overworked already, and babysitting people that continue to attack others on a regular basis is a never ending job that nobody wants to do. Maybe those people need to be banned, but in the past, they just come back with a different name and cause even more trouble. Maybe a block button to make those people not exist would eventually take away the attention that they are after and they will go away. Over the years, that's always what eventually happens with the worse offenders.
