I’m on my second spreader bar for the Pat’s Easy change. The first one went through the flail mower once shearing off the thumb screw and is presently somewhere on my property hibernating until I mow again...

This time I painted the outside of it orange in hopes it will stand out when I look back at the 3PH. The factory gray color is a perfect match to the gray on a Kubota so it just blends in back there.

I used a couple of 1/2” cable clamps from Home Depot to make a mount for the bar behind my seat. Let’s see if I can remember to remove it now...

Another reason a true quich hitch is superior. Pats would almost be acceptable if it was like European style with ball adapters on implements, you lose the swivel action on the lift bars.

And you don’t lose the swivel action on the lower arms with a rigid traditional quick hitch?

I find with my telescoping arms and the difficulty of attaching the pto (quick hitch doesn’t help there) I don’t even need a QH anymore. My next purchase will be a hydraulic link and that will further simplify things. And that means any implement is compatible!

According to the instructions the spreader bar is only left on Pat's Quick Hitch while connecting to your implement. It's purpose is to maintain the correct separation while connecting your implement. Once the implement is connected to the tractor it should be removed and stored. I've just not found a suitable storage place on the tractor so I return it to the shed for next time.

No, the QH is held on with 3 pins, just like an attachment, the lower link balls can swivel inside the QH frame. It is not bolted solidly to the lift arms. You can get a 7/8" dowel rod, cut it in half and fix it to each of pats qh. Raise and lower the lift arms and the alignment changes. You probably flexed the pats spreader bar and broke one end off.

I scrapped my pats setup, didn't like the stresses it was putting on implement pins. If implement pin breaks could be major damage to implement (bent or broken parts). Just the way I see it. Setup originally on BX2370.

I agree.
but I also quit using it. Really didnt help with everything a different distance apart.

But the implement is not free to swivel! Actually once in the lower arm balls, no implement is free to swivel. That function is largely for connection purposes. Go on out and try to swivel that hook and frame. Then pull it off the tractor hook up an implement as the mfg designed it. Put in the pins and try to swivel that. Very little movement. Now all 3 will sway on the arms.
Pat’s and similar systems work in many cases better than your QA as lots on implements are no QA compatible!

Re: Pat痴 Easy Change Spreader Bar Mount

I'm real happy with my older welded style Pat's quick hitch. i have implements from different eras and hardly any of them have the same pin set up width. i DID paint my spreader bar bright blue and I store in the sidemount tube that use to hold chains. This assembly is attached to the loader frame upright, an idea I got from TBN. The spreader bar and a tape measure accompany me yay though I walk through the valley .........;-)

Don't buy old 2nd hand junk or modify the implement. The only time I have to dismount tractor is to connect pto's or hoses.

Try the dowel rod experiment with pats you will have /\ then -- then \/ bsed on lift arm position. Again this was on a BX lift arms.
