Choosing just one grease..

Hey fellow Canuck,
I use Amsoil Synthetic Multi-purpose grease in everything that I own. And for the same reason...one grease gun. From mower spindles to FEL and everything in between. You mentioned snowmobiles don't have grease zerks anymore? You sure about that? Our Yamaha's (2016) have multiple zerks on the track suspension and even on the clutch ... we use it here too due to the water washout quality. If you can't find it locally they ship it right to you.

I was saying that the snowmobiles don't seem to have as many zerks as they used to. Seems like they had a lot more back in the day. I'll have to check to see if my Yamaha has a jackshaft zerk. If it does, I've never greased it.

Just checked Amsoil and it seems they have a new online store in Canada? Is this new? I know I've tried to track down some specific Amisoil products in the past, and couldn't olny order them through a few specific dealers.

Go to Harbor Fright and buy a couple more grease guns.
Then you can use the right grease for the application.

Definitely an option I guess, but I never thought it necessary for just a SCUT and a mower (plus ATVs and snowmobiles). Considering they each get about a 100hrs a year (at most) I figured I could survive with a high quality multi-purpose grease and frequent greasing. I'm probably going to try the Lucas or Amsoil products.

I'm down to my last Mystik cartridge, the bucket pins on the FEL seems to lap it right up, guess trying to get more then 8 hours of bucket work is asking to much.

i dont use alot of grease, my dump trailer, boat trailer, mower, and fel-less tractor. so i use marine synthetic. its expensive, but i also have a one gun mentality.

Mobilgrease extreme pressure CM-L made for mining equipment Zoro $7.50 a tube. I put everywhere even on small motor bearings.

I've used that grease. I bought it at Rural King. I'm glad I didn't pay the ebay price. I remember paying $1.50 for a tube of grease and it didn't seem that long ago. Now some are over $10.00. I find that I grease more with a lower priced grease. I guess I'm reluctant to pump dollar bills out of my grease gun. I don't farm hundreds of acres like we did when I was a kid. I only mow about 4 acres and cut a little firewood. Haven't had any noticeable wear from using lower priced grease.

I agree with Hysyde. One gun, one grease and occasionally use it. Life is good and work still gets done. :thumbsup:

Mystik isn’t a bad grease, but a higher quality grease should allow for longer service intervals. We grease daily but can easily do a 12 hour day of nonstop loader action.
