The link shows he attached the 2x4 to his grapple.

I made my old HF engine hoist into a FEL mobile hoist, then put the pole saw on that. Lots of reach, works good.

Great minds think alike. My 4x4 pole quickly slides off, then use grapple for clean up.

Today's seat time for me was a kind-of bucket list item. 153 miles one way, but that beats 1500, so I had to do it now.

Saw held on with bungee cord, 4x4 by gravity, only $100 saw - leave it in the woods and check after each windstorm. I'd probably snap pole if half if truth were known.
