As someone who knows very little about Power Trac products, I must say that there must be a lot of redeeming qualities to justify a problem as basic as over heating. I say this with sincerity as I know there are a lot of happy PT owners out there.

Around 120ー is pretty typical on my tank thermometer. Higher than that means the connector came off the relay, etc. But I do not bush hog for 8 hours either.

I have a Kubota L2250 and M6040 but I used the Power Trac's dramatically more because of their performance. With all that use comes working outside the envelope of what it was designed to do, and they do it happily. To me it pays to know what is going on with your machinery. If I used my Kubota's as much as I do the Power Tracs I would put a hydraulic temp gauge on it too, especially if it was driving hydraulic motor attachments.

When I am using a 5' flail mulcher on my PT1430 I average 150 degs F, and will stop using it and do something else at 160 deg F measured at loader control valve (which I believe is less then the reservoir, and a lot less than the wheel motor circuit). My application has a lot of stumps and rocks for the machine to climb over and it is working on a side hill, so the wheel motor circuit heats up pretty good to the point I notice a change in its performance.
