David, depending on how old the door was, there was an international problem with tempered glass about 6-8 years ago. The glass panels would suddenly shatter into a million pieces. It was happening to glass tables, windows / doors, ovens, etc.. anything with tempered glass.

Thanks Ted. Door is circa 2006/7, Milgard from HD. Very well could have been a stone hit from earlier times.

Being the fixed panel it doesn’t appear to be removable, if so I’d take frame in and get glass replaced. But being 25 miles from town, if I could get on site repair I think it would be very costly - not that I’ve found such a service.
Leaning toward getting a 4x8x1/8 plexiglas and doing myself.

I did get it weathered in for now

Interesting about the glass though as about the time frame you reference we had a fairly new patio set from KMart. Came home from town on day and found all the glass on the concrete. Had only been set up 4 days. Called for warranty claim but denied.

Good evening all. 76F for the start, rain, 2.3 inch in gauge, and near calm breeze. Rain over until Thursday night, Friday morning. Some sun this afternoon, wind became moderate till late afternoon the dropped quickly, and high temp was 91F feels like 100F. Men's meeting this morning, Cleaning lady prep again as she no showed yesterday. Bike rid was late today so I could join one of the Saturday morning gang. We did 30 miles in the heat, about 3 too many. Bike shop is working on replacement handle mounts to fix handlebars too far forward on Peugeot.

68 right now...high in the low 80's today.
Got the official results of my UT and CT scans from last Thursday...both good (as I'd already reported) and the only recommendation is a follow-up in a year...

good morning all.
Great news Roy

went to bed early, tired from move, up too early, will be a nap day.
bunch of errands to run today, first several boxes that should have gone to storage were brought to rv by mistake,
need to get them moved, then a run to Walmart to pick up several things. At least Walmart has mandatory mask usage.
In unpacking found a fresh N95 mask, will use that today

Weather forecast shows afternoon thunderstorms for next nine days, about a quarter inch of rain each day. What that means is
no rain one day and then a 1-3 inch downpour the next, just depends upon location.

Got lucky with rain yesterday, hot sticky day for move, we were all soaked, but only sweat, no rain, and it never did rain yesterday.

Glad you got settled in Drew. Nice of PJ to send a card.

Up early due to shoulder pain. Worse than last night. Will try to sleep in lazy boy.

Good morning, we had (yet) more rain over night, now clouds are thinning out and have promised to soon leave us to bask in sunshine for the rest of the day.

Don, that tree-popper tool looks like it will give you a good workout. Maybe the larger saplings will pull out easier when the ground is wet, with a board under the foot to stop it digging in. Or with so many people in your team, a rope on the bar could let others help while sharing a game of tug-o-war.

It is my favorite jelly / preserves... I keep a few different kinds on hand for my e-muffins! Thomas, you should try some if you can find it.
LS, Wilkin & Sons are one of the best for preserved fruit, a jar of their strawberry jam is in our fridge right now, waiting for the next time we treat ourselves to afternoon tea with a scone. :licking:

David, if you’re going to use plastic I would highly recommend Lexan over plexi. I’ve used both on boat windscreens and the Lexan, while bit more costly, is a far better product. It’s easier to work with, stronger and clearer much longer.

$25 bucks wouldn't make me happy if Apple had slowed down my device to get me to purchase another $1000 phone....

Truth be told, Kyle, I never noticed any slowdown at all. And the Apple forums were pretty clear on what Apple was doing to prolong battery life on phones with old, degraded batteries. The way I look at it, I'm getting back twenty-five of the twenty-nine dollars I paid Apple to replace the battery in the SE.

At least Apple isn't recalling phones with exploding batteries, like some other major vendors...

Not mowing, but having one of those unwanted learning experiences. Actually got a fairly early start on the day. Wife out with trimmer, I serviced tractor/flail in prep to mow. Wife suggested a quick break. After break she walks back toward area she left trimmer and I hear her yell 登h @@**&$ followed by 鍍he glass door just shattered?
Sure enough. Back slider to the King suite, fixed panel all crinkled to top and most of bottom quarter just lying there. Wife says she heard a pop as she walked by then the crashing glass. No mowing or trimmer activity at the time or 15 minutes prior. Most of the shattered shards on the outside.
Not an easy cleanup. Even worse getting out all the remnants. Now to evaluate how to fix, but for tonight just tarp over the opening.
Should have gotten a pic at beginning

Cleaning up broken glass in your bare feet, David?

Same thing happened here a few years ago. Sounded like a gunshot when the inner pane broke. Never did figure out what caused it, but it cost the better part of a grand to repair.:(

First cup of coffee is cooling. 60° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with mix of sun and clouds. Yesterdays thunderstorms missed me. Did a few small yard projects. Have a couple of vinyl siding repairs to do today. First I have to check if I have the material. No other plans.
Governor has put most of state back into almost lock down. Getting about 600 new case a day. But not many hospital cases and many days less than 5 deaths. I still wear mask and gloves when I go out.
My neighbors put a lot of work into their property. They are retired. Lived there 30+ years. Same place as playhouse project and other tractor jobs.
Hummingbird at feeder. Sometimes red shows up all the way around neck.

Roy, good report.

Drew, glad you got your mail. Especially the one from PJ. There was a good supply of mask at my Sams Club last week. I see there is one not to far from you in Winterville.

David, what Randy said. HD has it on sale 48" X 96" X .177". $158.

RNG, I have had all those iPhone's. But did not receive a email. Sold or gave them all away.

LS, good fan install.

Don, neat tool. I like pulling stuff with my tractor and chain.

Buppies, good to hear you and others are sharing your Bears. :D

Everyone be Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 4:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 101F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I wanted to be up early this morning to take advantage of cooler temperatures, but not this early.:confused2:

Got not much done yesterday, having taken most of the time fooling with the auto leveling adjustment on the Kubota. What a bust. Maybe a hint from another TBNer's post will give better results today.

The urethane for the tank came in, so that's on the agenda for first thing, though.

Sometimes yer the bug, sometimes yer the windshield. Glad you had a windshield day,, Ted!

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

74 going to 94. Maybe rain tonight...hope so.

Yep, I agree with RNG...glad you didn't step on glass, and glad Sophie wasn't too close to it. Sorry the door blew up. Always something.

Took a 4 mile hike and noticed that the creek is completely dry again, and that the deerfly population seems to be dropping...my kill rate dropped 50% from a week ago. No bears here, Buppies, so the raccoon is back...at least there were enough sunflower seeds on the ground, spilled by the goldfinches, that the coon didn't climb the tree and take its 2 feeders and suet down, like usual.

Need to change the oil and filter on the tractor and maybe go dig some creek sand.

Good morning All. 70 at dawn, 76 right now, forecasting a high of around 90 for today. Thundershower tonight hopefully.

Mention of deer flies reminded me that I have something for the group to see. My adaptation of the results of a study out of the University of Florida. This really works guys!

Paint a blue hat with a product called Tanglefoot and never be bothered or bitten by a deer fly again.
