Does anyone know who makes a PTO wood chipper (540 rpm) that loads the wood from the side and ejects it at the rear. I would like to be able to tow a small wagon behind the tractor to collect the chips. I am getting too old (78) to scoop them off the ground and load them by hand.

I dunno about load points but there are numerous chippers that have rotating shoots the can be directed anywhere you'd like.

I have a Wallenstein chipper. It has a rotating discharge chute. This chute can be directed in any direction. The very end of the chute has an adjustable deflector. The deflector can be adjusted to broadcast the chips or very specifically deflect them down into a wagon, wheel barrow, etc.

I'll go out take a picture and post it here.View attachment 664792

Woodmaxx's 8" chipper's feed chute sticks straight back and is in the center of the chipper. While the discharge chute will point back too, it'd be discharging right at the operator. The Woodland Mills 8" chipper's feed chute is off to one side and at an angle. I don't know if it's discharge chute will turn to point straight back, but it is available with a trailer hitch. If the discharge chute is aimed too close to the operator they breathe a lot of dust, depending on the wind direction.

The Wallenstein BXM32 chipper/shredder has a discharge chute that rotates at least 270 degrees. The deflector at the end of the e a chute allows you to aim the chips right into a trailer or wagon. Mine doesn’t have a trailer hitch, but it would be an easy modification.

My 6" Salsco is similar to Oosik's Wally. The in-feed is approx 45ー to the right of the longitudinal axis, and the chute is toward the left side. I welded a 1/4" tab to the rear of the left skid and mounted a hitch ball. I built up the sides of an old Craftsman dumping garden cart so that it will hold approx 2 cu yds of chips. If I were pulling more than a light utility trailer I would beef up the tab.

You could use a rear feed chipper with a trailer by backing up, turning the trailer at an angle.
