You may have to buy her an embroidering attachment for her sewing machine.

And it her machine is not computerized, it will need replaced also.

You should be able to get her all set up for 5 grand or so.
Actually she has a nice fancy computerized Husqvarna sewing machine and Serger. My mom used to really be into the computerized embroidery and had that $5K machine and a ton of accessories. Lord only knows what she spent on that hobby but it was worth it.

Sadly it now sits at my sister's place unused since my mom passed 10 years ago. She would have loved to do any custom embroidery I would have asked. Maybe I ought to tease my sis a little and give her the job! :D

My wife is into quilting and looks at long-arm quilting machines with at least a 12 foot table like some of us look at tractor ****.

I hope she stays contented just looking at pictures, those machines are tractor expensive.

So is my wife and she's looking at the 12' table as well as computerized. I just about had a heart attack when I found out how much they wanted. So, she doesn't have one - yet, but we're working towards one.

Making dowel nuts to put together the new greenhouse using 4x4 and 4x6 redwood. They are 1" x 3 3/4", could not find that size to buy.

Photo 1: cutting 1" brass rod to size.
Photo 2: chamfering the ends so they go easily into the holes.
Photo 3: slotting one end to make it easy to align for assembly.
Photo 4,5: making drill guides and tapping guides.
Photo 6,7: drilling holes to be tapped. The drill guide centers the drill on the work piece.
Photo 8,9: tapping the holes. The tap is a "gun" tap which can be turned clockwise through the work without going back and forth.
Photo 10: the assembled fastener.
Photo 11: drilling the holes in the wood pieces with a simple jig to keep the holes square and properly located.

There must be lots still out there. That one is about 70 years old does fine for my needs.

Mine is at least that old. I have owned mine 50 of those years. Needed to do some repairs to it a couple years ago. Ordered parts from Clausing (574-533-0371) and had parts for cross feed in less than a week.
