I often quote this statement as well. That why I "DO" research on airborne transport of COVID-19. How about you, or others?

So how about sharing some of the protocols and testing methods you used...is there anything like ASTM for what you were doing?
Did you randomly select masks from the general public and market retailers etc?

What type of equipment did you use to emulate breathing, coughing, sneezing etc...? what was used to monitor such...??

Really. Where did each states health plan come from? The governors of that state. They are responsible.

Many if not most governors were BEGGING for a federal plan and assistance. That way, they are off the hook with their constituents, who then aren't able to simply cross state lines and experience completely different protocols. It just makes more sense during a national emergency to have national leadership. Amazing how easy it is for you guys to absolve this guy of everything. He's failed you.

/pine, thats exactly what I'm talking about. People did not take it seriously. Because their president, his team, and his republican governor sycophants also did not take it seriously. Leadership starts at the top. I for one, am very glad to have an intelligent governor who followed scientific guidance.

Your heading down a political rat hole.

Your heading down a political rat hole.

Yeah, sorry. I'll stop. It's hard not to be a bit angry at how poorly this has all been handled, but I don't want to derail this semi-scientific thread (ha) into a political sh!tstorm.

The concerning part to me is that you may well consider your ability to write the above sentiments as your privilege granted to you by your government.

I am angry. Almost 200,000 Americans have died, we have a real unemployment rate of about 20%, we are going to add another Ten Trillion dollars to the deficit, and many people have or are going to lose their livelihoods, homes, and dreams. Only a couple of other third world "s" hole countries have handled it worse than we have. American exceptionalism has turned into exceptional ineptitude and cruelty for no good cause.

There are all sorts of angry people on this thread. One way or another, we will get past this pandemic.

You're GD right, I'm free to write the above sentiments, because they are how I feel, and also they are an accurate statement of affairs. And the only shred of good news as of late, is that millions of Americans feel like I do, and will vote for change in November. Unless our constitutionally enshrined and basic human RIGHT to vote is trampled upon, expect one **** of a blue wave. You must be kinda lonely up in the great progressive state of Vermont. :p

Better handling of this virus would have led to far fewer deaths, and far less damage to the economy. This is just fact.

You can't be serious...you have a very faulty memory, are blind or just refuse to face the facts...you also obviously don't have a very good grasp of the average American's rationale. (I think it's something in the water up there in MI)...!

It was well after social distancing mandates and advisories were in place before peeps started heeding the leadership...had they listened to and took them (advisories) seriously it may not have gotten so bad...once they (populous) realized they should have listened their only avenue was to start clamoring for masks...which is/was like closing the barn doors after the horses left...i.e., too little too late...and I emphasize the word "little" because that is all the benefit that a person gets from using inferior masks...

The general populous simply did not take the virus seriously regardless of what the powers that be were saying...the unrelated protests and demonstrations are a quintessential example...untold thousands/millions of peeps cared more about protesting and making fools of themselves than they cared about staying healthy...

Trying to blame the carelessness of the general public on a lack of leadership is nothing but a political fabrication of horse manure...it's a cop out and about the lamest excuse there is...peeps are notorious for blaming the gov. for their own lack of rationale...second guessing after the fact is ludicrous...the peeps mostly have themselves to blame not leadership...
