Choosing just one grease..

I picked up a 10 tube top of the line TSC extreme high pressure 3% Moly this morning normally $50 on sale for $25. I put in the last tube two days ago and this is our just one grease.

Sorry, not Royal Purple. Just an OK grease, mostly hype, and likely not a noticeable improvement on the Mystik.

I meant Royal Ultra 865HD. Not as good as the Amsoil, but close. I had no luck finding it, especially in Canada. Maybe easier in the US. I would still pick the Amsoil, unless you can easily get the Royal at a killer price.

PS If see you were using Mystik green tube general purpose, which is just OK. Even just going to the Mystik JT-6 High Temp red would be a noticeable upgrade. upgrade.
Yes thats the one and I think your right, it's OK. So I guess your giving Amsoil grease 5 stars and Royal gets 4, Mystek green must be 3 stars, wonder which brand gets 1 star.......

MC 2048CMT, also known as KYNETX MD LXM27. Decent drop point, ok weld point load, high water washout. It's ok. For 2.50 USD a tube, it's a very good deal.

Mystik green gets a 2. Mystik JT-6 High temp red a 3.5. You can usually give any general purpose grease that sells for 2.99 retail or less a 1 (SuperTech General Purpose)...But Mystik green is pretty low on the totem pole.

You right I was being generous, what about this, how many stars would yo give this one>>> Traveller Extreme Duty 3% Moly Lithium Complex NLGI #2 Grease

3. Much better weld load, much better drop point vs Mystik green. Only thing that is so so is the washout, so if you use it, just make sure you check your lube points if working in wet environments. Again, there are much better greases, especially if you are moving to Moly, but not for 2.50 a tube ;)

Extreme Duty? I don't think so Traveller. In fact this is a medium duty grease in the Kynetx lineup...

So what do you all think of the Valvoline VV615 Multi-Vehicle hi temp red grease? ....I don't drive (pickup) much anymore or work my tractors all that much....mostly just mowing now. I guess the answer would be ..... it doesn't make all that much difference.....just grease away.:)
Cheers,
Mike

Since this thread has morphed a bit from its original intent (choosing just one grease), I figure we can add a bit to it.

Just one grease, bearings, light medium duty on pins, you keep up with your greasing, prefer less staining? Amsoil Synthetic Multi-Purpose #2.

OK with having a different grease for bearings, don't mind black stains, beat the crap out of your pins, work under harsh conditions, sometimes slack off on your greasing? 5% moly grease. In order of preference, TRC Paragon 3000, TRC Chassis 880, Schaefer 238, CAT branded 5% moly. I'm sure there are others here. 5% moly is important, but so is base stock.

Grease high speed bearings only, or don't mind having a special grease for that? Amsoil Dominator Synthetic Racing Grease.

I welcome alternate suggestions, that have spec sheets showing better performance for these use cases.

I've been using Schaeffer's #219 synthetic for my tractor, and Mystik JT-6 high temp for my mower/general purpose grease. I got two full cases of the JT-6 for ~$1.00/tube at a going out of business sale a couple years back. Be a while before I get through all of that. If I'm packing new wheel bearings or CV joints on something, I use the Redline CV-2 synthetic. Never heard of the Paragon 3000, but the spec sheet is pretty good on it. I might give it a go someday when I run out of the #219. I grease the FEL and grapple joints every time I fuel the tractor because it's easy for me to remember that way. (And I'm using the FEL 95% of my tractor time.) I do all the other tractor lube points at the regular service intervals. What's your take on the #219 Mangler? I think actually using a grease gun occasionally would be a step in the right direction for some folks, I've walked away from more than one "good deal" on used equipment because all the joints and pivot points were wallowed out from zero lubrication.
