Could you please clarify that statement? Uniform per military or uniform per LEO? The reality and truth is you have good and bad people in every profession no matter what "uniform" you wear.
In the old days it was an LEO's word agasint a defendent. Guess what? Everyone took the word of the LEO anytime of the day. For better or worse with today's technology and camera's, we're finding out that sometimes LEO's will actually lie about what actually happened.
I remember when I got pulled over for a seat belt infraction in Wilkesboro years ago. Ended up having 4 cherry tops with lights going sitting behind me for a $160 infraction. I thanked them with a smile having all those guys wanting to protect myself from my own stupidity when uncle sam wouldn't give me the same consideration when they gave me a rifle:laughing: That said, I did get pulled over outside the same town with a case of Yuengling beer I brought back from Pennsylvania I was taking to a guy (special brew not always found outside of PA) along with an AR I had just bought from a local gun shop. Same issue, seat belt, the the state trooper let me go with a warning (about the seat belt) even with the beer and AR in the VW. Always use to think it was the organization that made the man a prick, but came to the conclusion it's not the organization, but the man himself (and yes, I was wrong for not wearing a seat belt, flame away).
Did get pulled over in Utah for doing 26 in a 25 (yes, really) school zone and it was a Utah state trooper. I had a gun in the car (with permit) that had all 6 chambers loaded and I could of been fined for that as well. I paid the speeding ticket pretty much the same day at the courthouse, but... me and that trooper (younger guy, about my age in early 30's) spent a good 45 minutes talking on the side of the road about guns and living on the east coast vs out west and why I was visting Utah. I didn't like the fine, but after getting to know the man, hard to believe, but I actually thought we could be friends if I lived out there. Point being, sometimes people who don't wear the uniform can be just as quick to judge others who may wear a uniform.
My own son wants to go into law enforcement, and I have a nephew going into law enforcement. My only advice to both of them is it's a thankless but admirable job, but don't ever become a prick without knowing you're one just for the fact that you wear a badge and you have power upon others due to your position.
