I live in a county of 10k. We have had 7 cases and no deaths due to Covid-19.

Most people here are complying with mask directives but there is little acceptance of their efficacy. But most of are dumb hillbillies.

If this virus is as infectious and deadly as reported, why are the numbers not showing it. After this many months, my little pea brain figures at least 25% of the country should be infected.

I suspect we will keep using masks, but if our idiot governor puts us on lock down again, people here will ignore it.

When this started and the country started shutting down I commented that we never would really know if it was paranoia, or if it really did work. I will still stand behind that statement.
At that time though, it was "to flatten the curve so that we could prepare." Things would have been a lot better if the doctors and scientists had been allowed to call the shots, while the politicians concentrated on something really important like saving the 3 legged reptile toad.

Just before the shutdown, a coworker was diagnosed. She's an active health nut and in charge of the company "Wellness program." (She gave the guys a cheap thrill when talking of ways to exercise if you're too busy... she does squats while brushing her teeth."

She said that she had a tough time of it for a while.

Saw a map on the news last nite. According to the map, most the hotspots in NC are near colleges.

IMHO, until we get a vaccine, this thing is in the hands of college students and other young people. Good luck.

They blinded me with science.

I seem to be averaging ~1/2 - 1 pint of cheap rum 6 evenings/wk since the hoax. :(

Not to boast, but IMO I got ya all beat on stupid with that one, and I'm hardly proud of such a crude & clumsy way to 'go early'. :confused3:

What is different with your routine, now during the pandemic?

I am tired of the "science and data" mantra spouted by politicians who are generally much less educated and dumber than I am. Tired of "peer reviewed studies". I am old and tired. Let me decide what precautions make sense for me and let me die living a normal life if that is my fate.

I want the least amount of government in my life. I do not trust any of them. Like the morons who put Covid patients into nursing homes - yep based on science and data! I do not trust the "science" especially if it comes from the WHO. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me....

Stupid or careless people dying is not a new phenomena. It can never be regulated out of existence. People will not follow rules and guidelines they do not believe in.

Our society refuses to jail looters and vandals destroying property or assaulting police officers, so what are the chances of arresting 300 college kids at a beach party?

I see people ignoring mask orders. All they need to say is they have a "medical condition" that makes it difficult to breathe. Seems easy to walk round with an inhaler to "justify" not wearing a mask. Rules can be easily broken and there are no consequences.

Maybe the stupid ones are ones getting sucked in?

It's fine for you to take precautions that make sense for you, as long as they don't negatively affect other people. That's all anyone is asking.

There is promising information that Oxford University and AstraZeneca have narrowed down a treatment for sever cases of COVID patients.

It’s derived from blood plasma from recovered COVID patients. I read this while researching why the gains in the stock market took place yesterday.

The European scientists are throwing everything they can at this disease. I hope this one sticks.

That's precicely the Insanity of this current mess. It's the 300 kids not wearing masks that will get arrested. NOT the arsonists.

The Concocted News reports few such things. So why would I believe a word they say about anything else, when it's not news, just political propaganda and control.

I saw a documentary on Viruses years ago. If any of that is true, even I know that Viruses never remain the same. They are out to get us. To think a vacine is coming for "this" pandemic, to me is laughable.

Agree. But one size does not fit all. Politicians make blanket rules that may be applicable for congested cities but are silly in most areas of a state. I posted this in one the early Covid threads....it was illegal for me to drive my tractor 2.5 miles to help out my neighbor....there are only three other residences on the road...with four adults and two children. Everyone with any common sense knows that is either silly or stupid.

Interesting. Thanks for that.

But why would I expect Canada to get something like that right? They can't get healthcare, immigration, the military, infrastructure, Air Canada, VIA Rail, Power Generator right. I could go on and on. Them getting rich and assuring their pensions, they get perfectly right it seems.
