EDITED

The title was as you stated, followed by "it gets beaten ", followed by a link to a story about face mask mandates. The implication of the topic was quite clear.

If you think I've posted something stupid, please feel free to point me to where, as I'd be happy to see your perspective on why you think it's stupid.

What I call stupid and what you call stupid are quite a distance apart. I already discussed this with you but I'll go thru it again.

I think it's stupid for an "expert" to make a quote on a public Internet Forum and then ask that it not be repeated.

You think you are just being diligent in the accuracy of your statement.

But you can't confirm that accuracy because it's still inconclusive.

Somebody needs to get out on their tractor. I do warn you however, that doing so is potentially UNSAFE! Safety boots, safety goggles, Hearing Protection, Gloves, Seat Belt, Back up Alarm and Camera, Inclination monitor, appropriate ballast, . REMEMBER, it's not just about you. someone might see you acting all careless and copy that behavior, for it's what humans do best it seems.

I don't have a backup alarm, camera or tilt meter, but I do have and use all the rest. I have loved ones that I don't want to injure, and, they don't want me to be injured. I have both my eyes, most of my hearing, and though I tried to amputate my finger last year, I managed to keep it. I want to be around to see my kids grow up, and I want to be able to continue to help my elderly in-laws live a good quality of life until they pass. So, no, it isn't just about me. It's about my family and my community.

As far as the water on aircraft goes. You would have a near impossible time convincing me that there was a terrorist behind every bush any more than convncing me there is a virus (waiting to kill me) behind every mask. And that's what the hysteria might suggest.

You want to cripple the nation, go after school buses, not airplanes. SOFT TARGETS! No such events happened. I guess all those potential terrorists are just not very creative.

And the airlines I'm sure weren't lamenting their improved profits selling bottled "water" of all things. I have nover bought a single bottle of water (cases, maybe two) and probably never will.

Another thing actually that I nor anyone I know, has bought into. This running around with a water bottle in one hand. Sheep!

SAD that more people can't just look around at the bigger picture and probably conclude, this doesn't make any sense!

I understand (I think) what you're saying, but I don't know that my reasoning for it was clearly understood. For example, I'm on a webinar related to airborne transport of COVID-19 right now. As various presenters show their information, each one that is presenting non peer-reviewed work has a disclaimer that says, essentially, "please don't distribute/copy", for the same reasons I have already explained.

I think maybe the misunderstanding is that you think I was saying my own work was "unassailable". That was not my intention at all. The short images I showed were far from being "ready for primetime", as it were. They were simply there to serve as a demonstration of things I'm working on, as others had requested. There are still many details on them we are working through before we will publish them.

My other definitive statements on airborne transport were related to work that has been peer-reviewed.

IMO, A 'bigger picture' might include what's beyond the front porch.

"There's something wrong with everything." You just have to find/admit/live with it and not die from whatever it is.

btw, I'm not convinced that every car in the oncoming lane is looking for a head-on crash, so why have collision coverage?

Remember when Anti Lock Brakes were introduced?

Are ABS brakes even mandated? In any event. GREAT! Now I drive a 3/4 Ton Diesel Truck that has no chance at all of stopping any time soon on these wintery back roads. Yeah. Real SAFE. AND I HAD to PAY for THAT!

First, the title of this thread is "just when you thought you knew what stupid was". No subject implied. Stupid has been displayed in many varieties here by many posters. Sometimes even you. It's just a round table discussion on the Internet. No one here has the answers. Not even you.

Best post of this entire thread.

Thank you James. Sometimes I get lucky.

I'll take luck over skill any day.
