My wife wants to ride!

My NH Workmaster 75 has the buddy seat. It is for small people or children for a short period of time. It would not be comfortable for an extended period. No suspension and very little padding.

A couple of hours in a rough field would be very uncomfortable I would bet.

Or as a buddy once described the little jump seats in his old Ford Ranger.....designed for small children or adults you do not like.

I remember those... little kids or bags of groceries. That is about all.

The nice thing about those is that they fold up out of the way. The cubby hole they fold into are great for stashing rope, tools, or anything else that you don't want in the bed.
The seats in my Colorado are-there. The only way to get rid of them is with a wrench, then you have the gap that they leave behind.

Out here on the side of the volcano there is major slope everywhere and plenty of rain. A sad number of my neighbors and their workers or relatives have died in rollover accidents over the years.
The golden rule is to never get aboard unless strapped in and protected by the ROPS. Stuff happens!

You can justify the purchase as being conservative with your money. According to New Holland the Workmaster 75 is the utility version, the Powerstar 75 is the luxury version. However the Workmaster has a very nice cab with AC, radio, and air ride seat as standard equipment. The big difference is the engine, both are rated 75 HP. The Workmaster is 3 cylinders and 60 HP PTO, the Powerstar is 4 cylinder with 65 HP PTO. For me that didn't justify an extra $7,000 to $10,000. They also have different loaders and cabs, again not enough for me to justify the cost. Also the Workmaster has an option for R4s, which I wanted, while the Powerstar does not.

"See honey, I bought the cheapest one they had."

My wife rode inside my NX once, when new. Can't recall why. She's petite. This is a pretty large cab but no way can it really handle two people. When I'm running the tractor I'm doing WORK. I don't want my concentration broken lest the tractor end up broken: got lots of trees and a handful of ditches. My wife complains that I spend too much time mowing; her riding along would only make our time management issues worse.

Semi-technically the Kubota B7800 is hers. She's operated it a couple of time (in about 10 years). Says she'd like to, perhaps when we're retired, mow with it. We'll see: I DO know that it'll be a flail that she'll be using and not a brush hog.

If we want to go for a ride out on the property we'll do it in our side-by-side UTV (the dog can wedge in with us, though it's super tight). No worries about messing up operating an implement or loader etc..
